Good point! The rarity of such music films is one of the reasons I started my traveling cinema project: to bring rare films to audiences who might not otherwise see them, especially small towns in North America. I did a pretty neat little trick with my Cinema from the very start, I decided that it would not be a business or a charity it would just be showing Films, free of charge, best way to you deliver great film to people. Long live the musical spirit of Big Mama! Hunter, founder of Highway Cinema

Big Mama was a very special singer and performer, simply legendary, its amazing how slim and rangy she looks in 1971 and yet still carried that massive glorious booming voice and vocal range. I feel sad when I see a star of her stature only getting novel interest at sporadic times in her career. Like many legendary Blues stars, she really deserved so much more plaudits, financial rewards and fame.

@@carolfishwr8703 Big Mama was just one forgotten and underrated black blues legend, look up Gospel/Pop/Rock singer Sister Rosetta Tharpe. When you hear her sing and play her guitar, you begin to understand how she was referred to as the Godmother of Rock n Roll. She influenced Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Little Richard and the big US bluesmen of the day (Muddy Waters, Howlin Wolf, John Lee Hooker, Sonny Boy, etc…) the top U.K. blues enthusiasts and musicians at that time loved her work. The Brit pop invasion of the US in the 60s was initially paying homage to their black US Blues and Rocky Roll heroes. It probably wouldn’t have happened if it weren’t for these hugely gifted stars like Sister Rosetta and Big Mama.
