One great thing is to learn colour grading, this can easily add $100 to a full video edit, as it is one of the most important things for good interesting videos.

@@キキミミシュウ honestly ? fuck you, it´s not his fault to live in the country he lives, and your stupid ass comes here to talk shit when you have multiple oportunities that he might not have. So stop crying about "the whole industry down", your capitalist ass is submerged in the industry already.

4:24 this is the best tip that everyone always forget, which just makes them quit! People who want good edits will pay more for good edits, always remember that.

Even if you have a 15-year portfolio of experience, the internet doesn't know it. So, lowering your prices a bit to get some reviews from your customers is probably something you did in your first year as well.

If you were building a portfolio, would FIverr be a good place to start? Say, not editing for a career, but for experience? Or do you think it is too oversaturated with competition that even that would be a waste of time?

yes but it keeps the small fish small, gotta think big.

I would do up-work personally, I got banned of it after my first few gigs cause u need to be 18 and it let me sign up with my under 18 Apple ID so I never knew, but it is much better than fiverr in my opinion. Was getting $20 Australian an hour for editing TikTok’s, which is almost double maccas
@j-smith00 Жыл бұрын
Also to build a portfolio, at least for me, I would enter editing competitions, because they give you probs 2-5 hours of footage and you can make like 5 videos from it.
@jackgu98898 ай бұрын
hey, what u figured out and is doing sounds cool. I'm rather clueless to how to monetize my editing skills, could you tell me what kinds of competitions i should be looking for (and how to discover them) Additionally, could I see your upwork portfolio, to see as a reference? thanks@@j-smith00

@@BVCCo7 sadly they are right and this does not say much, a person who has skills but is new to the market will not be able to help fix the terrible niche that is fiverr, the prices there are ridiculous and there are some skilled people there working for pennies, usually there can be people from the east making money from templates or similar.

What's your opinion on the strategy of having dirt cheap rates and you are severely undervaluing yourself I'm talking a dollar a video and once you get all those good reviews and that experience you raise your rates?

I am 35 y.o I just started to learn video editing in the hope that I earn a monthly 500-800€ max. It's also who wants what. I love my job and I don't wish to quit but for the second job better to learn this as to work in a cleaning company or Mcdonald's.
