Sitting here in Wisconsin waiting for may 31st to go up there, can't stop thinking about it, so pumped! Going after the walleye on kawishiwi river and nearby lakes. Any advice?

I have ALWAYS had good luck fishing that date honestly. My biggest pieces of advices are this. Leeches. Don't waste your time with anything else. Try slip bobbers with pink jigs or plain red hooks. Try different depths until you can't find signs of life. Once you find them, stick to that depth the whole trip. If they don't seem to go after bobbers, you gotta try trolling with bottom bouncers and spinners. Play around with a few colors. Shinier or reflective stuff seems to work better since the water can be murky with the iron tinge. Look for areas structure that doesn't completely snag you every time. Although it seems like the snag spots seem to be where the fish like to hide. Remember too, the speed of the trolling matters. Try slow and a littler faster. Again when you find signs of life, stick to it or other places like it. I wish you the best of luck! I won't be going up there this year and it's a total bummer. But other adventures await! Good luck! Catch em for me!

@@jordanhoneyman5734 thanks for the advice!!! Yeah we're gonna be targeting all species, and definitely a big fan of using leeches for walleye. Here in the rivers in Wisconsin I've been using triple swivels with a quarter ounce jig and a paddletail on about a foot mono leader, and a fly on the other with about a foot and a half leader and just casting out and jigging off the bottom. That absolutely hammers the walleye here. I caught about a dozen that were well over 22 inches last season using it. You ever hear of anyone using that setup there?

@@erikstark3250 I can't say that I have exactly. But I know I've tried something similar in fact. But it was later in the year with not as much luck. It's been one of those things where a few things have always had decent to great luck so I tend to save space and weight and only bring those instead.

@@jordanhoneyman5734 I feel that. Last time we went we only went for 3 days in late summer and stayed on wind lake right next to moose. Caught one walleye, 30 incher so it was cool but that was it for walleye. Brought about 4 dozen leeches so that was a waste lol. But caught a ton of smallies and northern.

We went in at Nina Moose. The exact number escapes me at the moment. Great area though!
