Thank you Mark. Great work as always. Now in our seventh decade my wife and I spend a lot of time base camping Basswood. After forty years of circle routes we now enjoy quiter trips whenever possible. Thank you for allowing us to travel with you! And yes, the trumpeter is smazing.

You are lucky that your wife still comes along--although mine is very supportive of my trips, she stopped coming up many years ago which is what lead me to engage in these solo excursions, which I've grown to LOVE. I like your term "quieter trips". Thanks for watching and especially your interesting comment!

Hey Mark, another great video of my favorite place! It's always been a therapeutic place for me as well. As you know, I'm familiar with this area, but have never been to either of the areas where you camped. Those were some beautiful bass you caught. Remember, it's 20" to the r on your rod. :). I hope you're feeling better! Take care my friend!

Nice video, Marc I just returned from a very similar trip. We took the shuttle to WashingtonIsland. We continued on the Canadian side of Basswood for five nights, then returned via Burke Lake. Had wonderful weather, good fishing and many relaxing days in camp. We originally intended to do it as a no portage trip, but decided to come back through Burke rather than have to paddle all the way back through Basswood second time. We have been doing Quetico trips together for a decades now. Even with our aging bodies and physical limitations, we still manage to have a great trip every summer.

We even shared your campsite on Burke. Enjoyed the hike to the top of island!

Great trip. Basswood is always beautiful and has some of the best sites in the BWCA. Thanks for sharing the bass tips I may steal a few of them :). Glad you are healing up and look forward to your next video. You inspire me.

Hi Mark. Sorry to hear about your injury. Glad to see a new video. We went in about a week after you. Same weather though. I had a knee injury last year, and we spent a good portion of the trip in Pickerel and the attached lakes. Hope to see you out on the water one of these times.

Always good to hear from you, Fisherman Boyle. You are one of the most fortunate paddlers I know, given that your wife is so enthusiastic about our favorite place.. Most of us don't have that luxury. I'll be in the SE corner of the park and the Kawnipi area this fall. One of these days we will run into each other in the park. Thanks for your comment and keep up the great work on your content, which I always enjoy and learn from.
