After losing 9 consecutive matches, ShidaMatsu finally beat ChenJia. This is a match I will rewatch in future as it captured a milestone in their career. Both Nami and Shida played well with less error and great stamina. Nami is the key and here, she proves on her good day, she can boost Shida's confidence and together, they flow very well.

It must've been quite a shock to the Chinese watching that the Japanese pair finally beat the Chinese pair after losing to the latter nine previous times they were matched and, furthermore, the number 1 ranked Chinese pair lost to the Korean pair in the earlier match to eliminate any Chinese pair from the Women's Doubles final at the last major tournament in their own home turf.

15:10-15:40 I agree with the male commentator. I always have hard time rooting for this Japanese pair because, Shida more busy to look pretty rather than focus on winning the game. Of course in this clip the male commentator use better words to describe her “antics” but i just glad that i’m not the only one feeling this way. I mean what such a waste of potential, if you want to be a celebrity be a celebrity instead, rather than playing pretty on sport event 🙄 Don’t get me wrong i’m rooting them 😅 i’m hard on them because i’m rooting them.

That's just her natural reaction. Nami was asked in a Japanese show about how she feels about Shida's reactions, she said she doesn't have any particular feeling about it because she's been like that since forever, so it's only natural for her. At least Shida's smiling about it, instead of looking angry/frustrated. I'm more concerned about Nami's reaction in previous matches (especially with Liu/Tan). Shida at least, gives off some positive vibes and lifting the mood.
