I keep coming back to this match. - Final match of the most prestigious tournament (aside from Olympic) - Two highest seeded players playing against each other - Two highest ranked players playing against each other - Two greatest players of all time playing against each other, in their prime - Lee Chong Wei defeated Lin Dan in previous tournament (All England 2011) - Lee Chong Wei on a mission to snatch Malaysia's first ever world championship gold - Only one year after this tournament, the two met again in Olympic final when Lin Dan cemented himself as the greatest of all time (if not before this) - Very tight match, lived up to the expectation

Very well said. Too bad the Olympics didn't have a deuce, and the audio was weak. Camera angle also much more exciting in this match. LCW was very, very close here. He completely demolished Chen Jin (2010 winner) in the semifinals, and like you said, beat Lin Dan easily in that All England (worst I've seen younger LD play in a final, he didn't even attack much).

I think Lee Chong Wei's reaction when he lost was very sportsmanlike. He lost a World Championship and he had two matchpoints, but he lost it. And after that he was only sad, but he kept his calm and stayed relaxed, and this is why the Asian players are good I think, because they are very relaxed when they are playing, and they can lose like a gentelman, and they can concentrate to the shuttle.

I am a Malaysian and support LCW, many would say that Lin Dan won so many games against LCW due to his mental psychology only but not skills. Let's be clear guys, he wont be beating LCW based on pure mental only. Lin Dan is so skillful and discipline in his each shots. Not to mention his smashing rates are better. I don't think he never talks good of Lin Dan, Like one of them said ''Lee Chong Wei has to work slightly harder for his point'' I actually think this is true because LCW is having to go through a lot to get his point where as Lin Dan has a big advantage his smashes are too powerful and when he gets the chance he takes it, LCW is more of a physical battle player, his speed helps him a lot but the thing is Lin Dan is able to get them back most of the time with no problem.

If Lin Dan had lost this match, would it be logical to say Chong Wei broke lin Dan's heart? If Chong Wei had stopped Lin Dan from winning his second olympics gold medal, would it be logical to say Chong Wei broke Lin Dan's heart?

This time no air-con problem, no biased referee. Lee Chong Wei played a easy 2-game semi final in the afternoon. Lin Dan played tiring 3-game semi final at night and had less time to rest.

Malaysia are always so close in badminton. One of the greatest example: look at the results of both men's doubles semi-finals in bwf world championships 2009.

I have never seen Chongwei slapping his own face (3rd set 18:18) before. Never seen how regretful Super Dan felt after he lost a point at 19:19 in the 3rd set. They both wanted to win this match.

Why Morten Frost disagreed with LD towelling down at 22 to 21? The court needed mopping and so did LCW towelling down too. Frost was trounced badly by Yang Yang and was still bitter?

morten frost you are not being very professonial her. you dont hope for another player to win against another player, when you are commetating on a world champions match. dont hate china because they dominate in badminton. best regards from a peter gade fan :)

LCW had two match points, Lin Dan had his first and he went straight for it. Lin Dan was honestly the better player.
