My father was from Hong Kong and worked for NPC in Nauru from the 50s to early 80s. He was the chef and one of the owners of Star Twinkles Restaurant for many years. I have very fond memories of Nauru, I was in Nauru on and off from 1966 to 1974, families of Chinese workers were only allowed to stay for a maximum for 3 years, then back to Hong Kong for 1 year before returning for another 3 years. Each stay in Nauru was also restricted to bringing 2 kids each family. Years ago, I registered with KZbin in the name of "star twinkles??? (I can’t remember the username)" asking for information and photos of Nauru as part of a project that I was planning to do, a book about the Chinese workers in Nauru. Since then, this project got buried with other priorities happening in life, hopefully one day I would be able to pick it up again. My father is 95 years old now (2016) and lives in a nursing home in Canada, he stills talks about Nauru. Those were his proud years. Now, once again, I am appealing to anyone who has any pictures of Nauru so that I can show them to my father while he is still in a reasonable health. Photos of Location School, Location (the Chinese workers area), the open-air cinema, NPC store, the harbor, particular photos of Star Twinkles Restaurant. What a shame that we do not have a single photo of Star Twinkles.

I'd love to hear of Nauruan websites, too. Cenpac used to have a cool message board, but it's been gone for years. Our Airline has a bare bones website.

does anyone know any nauruan sites...like anything. The place has changed so much. I saw a documentary a few months ago done by a french team, more focus was on the refugees, but if anyone knows any good sites, I would be happy to know.

In terms of area, Nauru is the third smallest country. Vatican City ( 0.2 sq mi ) and Monaco ( 0.6 sq mi ) are smaller than Nauru ( 8 sq mi ). But Nauru is the world's smallest republic. ( I see they're reforming their constitution. ) In terms of population, Nauru is also third smallest. Vatican City has only 1000 people and Tuvalu has only 10000 people; Nauru has 11000 people. Also, Tokelau and Niue, which are affiliated with New Zealand, have 1000 people.
