I guess “technically” since both Salazaar and Barbossa’s crews were already “dead”, and the Dutchmen’s were commited to 100 years of service, once their service was up, they’d be f’d and killed off once returning to “human” form. Barbossa’s curse could be undone by all treasure returned and the blood of Turner, AS WELL AS by the Trident. Whereas Salazaar’s curse seemingly only by the trident. So i guess, by default, having “less ways” to be “killed once returning to human form”, Salazaar’s crew takes the title!?!?

You've missed the point. He earned the name "Sparrow" that day, due to the uncanny resemblance to that of a sparrow. Not his looks, but his actions. Flits from one place to the other, seems very cute and friendly, and very harmless. But all of that is deceitful. A sparrow is not harmless, nor cute. They're diabolical little birds, who will attack and kill other birds much larger than itself, for the sake of having it's own home. Everything to this bird becomes a selfish need for survival, at the cost of other birds lives. Seem familiar? He's an awesome captain. But Jack is extremely selfish nonetheless.

Technically, Jack is the one who tricked him into the Devil's triangle. So, it's not the name that haunts him.
