I really appreciated this review. I received a sample a few years ago from Luckyscent and loved it but found it didn't last on me and was pricey through Luckyscent so I didn't purchase. I have not found a rose oud that I have liked as much (and due to your review) I decided to finally purchase it. Great review, man. Also like your take on the volume of oud fragrances the western market is seeing nowadays, couldn't agree more. Contrarily, I really enjoyed Rose Oud, I haven't had the opportunity of trying Dark Rose however.

Versace Oud Noir sounds quite promising actually, Fragnatica has the note line-up as Oud, spices, leather and woodsy notes, I will definitely help the note become more well known in the general population and more-so if it is indeed a well constructed fragrance.

Just trying a sample of Dark Rose today. It's absolutely stunning. In a different class IMO. I'm also trying their 88, which is equally good and seems to have some of the same rose as the Dark Rose

Nice one Raj!! Still need to check these out, i just purchased a 50ml amber oud edp from ebay thanks to Alex, serious quality juice for less than a tenner, wearing it today, it smells similar to montales red aoud,

To my nose the Czech & Speake Dark Rose is like a watered down version of Montale's Aoud. If you like Dark Rose, you should give Aoud Flowers or Aoud Rose Petals by Montale a sniff, they smells really similar with the Montale being richer and stronger

Yeah I will actually agree there, the Rose Oud does need that sweet element to it. I don't know, see if maybe you could get a decant somewhere and maybe try the two. Nice review and good luck.

I have tried both and am in total agreement with your comments and, as a woman, also find both to be wearable...trying to find a source for C & S Dark Rose in Canada.

Rose Oud is kinda Nice. I've mixed /Rose Oud and L'Artisan's - Traversee du bosphore and right off the back within a couple of minutes out that night, I got a "WOW, SOMEBODY SMELLS GOOD"!!! LOL

Kilian rose oud does not perform that well guys. It’s barely there on skin after 6 hours

Having worn MFK Oud for years, your description of the wet bonfire makes zero sense.
