Well Mick, that was thoroughly enjoyable and informative. I had known about the escape and the Catalpa as I read a book mom owned titled The Emerald Whaler. Never heard or knew of the song. Well done. You might be interested in a book of poetry by an Irishman about Irish emigrants life in Australia in the latter years of the 1800's, titled " Around the Borree Log" .Thanks.
