You should make a cuckoo bellow clock that can chime all three chimes Whittington, St. Michael's, and Westminster! September 14 2024

The westminster chimes on this clock sounds nice and the notes playing the chimes are F#/Gb, B, C#/Db and D#/Eb

Can you buy these or did you make it yourself? This is amazing and I would like one of these it sounds lovely on westminster

I couldn’t agree more in fact the westminister chime would go from the lowest note + 4,5,6 notes

It's definitely pretty cute. But it's a lot duller than Whittington. I wish there was a more popular request for St. Michael's (if the movement even does that.) Maybe next time you feel the urge to take it down and show it off, you could try that. (Again, if the movement isn't just a double chime one.) c:

It only has Westminster and Whittington. I'm not particularly fond of St. Michael chimes anyway.

well, i was finally curious to hear it on some trumpeter bellows with this thing but it's just an interesting experiment to be honest. if it was on Westminster. the Westminster chime.

hmm, the tones sounded interesting. ah ha so it was using the mantel movement for that thing hmm.this is interesting too.

also buggered motion work that warmink quality innit, Also i've got a spare bimbam movement and some cuckoo case parts, so after i finally get and build that wilesco tractor a shelf cuckoo is on my list
@TommyWylie4 жыл бұрын
I don't think this clock is by Warmink. It's not their style. the movement is a German cuckoo type (pre-Regula) with no name. It should be easy enough to fix but it will have to join the queue.
@wiltothecollector44204 жыл бұрын
@@TommyWylie the movement sounds like the ones in earlier 50's warminks

Is that a new dial?
@TommyWylie4 жыл бұрын
I replaced the dial in 2014 from the same master printout as the original silver card dial, which was a bit creased.

Maybe turn that clock case into a Mantel Clock Case. One of the methods I am thinking of is sawing part of the bottom of the case if you can without breaking the clock and then painting the new bottom with black paint. That is just what I am thinking of.
@TommyWylie4 жыл бұрын
I prefer it as it is.
@andreasjoannai64414 жыл бұрын
Well I one time ran into a barrier when I discovered that the second hopewell kit we got was not as good as we thought because the chime silent switch was just too short for the dial to go on. And what is worse? The part needed to expand the length of the chime silent switch was missing. :(

What size bellows did you use? I have a Westminster chime clock movement and want to try this.....
@clockmaniac Жыл бұрын
Hey Tommy, I noticed that in GMT to BST: The Labour of Love (kzbin.info/www/bejne/nYC3YoJqj7qZl5I), the dial had a dent between the '9' and 10' and a hole next to the '3' that looked like where a chime selector would go (although this clock has no chime selector). In this video, I noticed the dial has been fixed. How did you fix it?
@TommyWylie Жыл бұрын
That was a badly made card dial, which never sat flat against the front of the clock. I replaced it with a laminated card dial, which is much sturdier and less prone to distortion. The clock is presently not in operation, but it is on my very long list of waiting repairs. Hopefully it will be working in time for 2024's GMT to BST! :)
Why Do You Think The Westminster Chimes Sounds Awful On The Cuckoo Bellow Clock? September 23 2022
@mallguy89702 жыл бұрын
@@dkintana Westminster sounds terrible. It is a Jauch movement.
@colsanjaybajpai57474 жыл бұрын
Great clock. Any way of making the bellows go a little slower. That would extend the note and it would sound better. And of course your wherle timepiece at the end of the video - saucepan and hammer strikes. LOL.
@adi2134-f1k3 жыл бұрын
Dear Mr. Tommy, I would like to ask where did you buy the Westminster cuckoo clock. Where does it come from and what is it called?
@TommyWylie3 жыл бұрын
I have it set up to do Whittington chimes most of the time. The case was locally built, the movement is by Haller, and the bellows were obtained from a variety of sources. I completed it in 2006.
