Have to-do Model verb.. Do you have to go? / Have you got to go? This modal verb depends on. Meaning, Time and Tense according to subject -Agreement and Structure. Actually Semi Modal is of 3 kinds. 1.Need 2.Dare 3.Used to. ‘Have to ’ =function modal verb, but no specifying / identifying = modal verb or semi modal verb. Please mention an authentic grammar.

I appreciate your classes, classes on participle, gerund. In this class you have used your personal way of making people understand. It's praiseworthy. But these grammatical terms have good names is some good grammar. If you go through A Comprehensive Grammar of the English Language, you will find these verbs as Verbs of Intermediate Function or somewhere you can find it as Periphrastic Auxiliary Verbs. Otherwise some unexpected expression might be created.
