Well, Roxanne, those Breakdown videos are the best thing in art on the internet. Clearly you know your stuff and your presentation is smooth, informative and entertaining. Thank you. I'm sure it's a lot of work. Oh, and congrats on baby bun!

So glad to hear from you and flip through your lovely book. I think of you often/often/often and of James and the baby on the way and the pugs. Love to all! (I've been outdoors hiking/hiking/hiking! When it gets blazing hot, I'll stay in more. Can't waste the pretty weather!)

Hey Roxanne. Thanks for the sketchbook tour! It's such a personal view into your creative world. I enjoyed revisiting your work that I got to see evolve in your Twitch stream and your Artsnacks projects. Hugs to you, James and the pugs. #croutforever

I adore your use of color and overall style. I’m usually not a fan of bright colors, but I like the juxtaposition of “darker” themes with bright colors. It works. Very much enjoyed this. 🖤 Oh! PS, I’m not sure if you know who Sabrina Ward Harrison is, but your handwriting really reminds me of her journal/sketchbook/self help style art books she has for sale. I loved her work (especially handwriting) when I was in high school. ☺️

Loooooove this. I dig seeing how people work. @by bun , how do you keep your colored pencil work from transferring over to the next page when closed? I do spreads using colored pencils and gouache and it use to transfer over to the next page bad until I put parchment paper between the sheets, but that solution is bunk. I thought about treating it with a varnish, but I don't want to lose the gouache texture. Any suggestions?

Love this! Question: how did you come up with the artist name by bun?
@bybun5 жыл бұрын
I actually just answered this on another comment - 'Bun' is a pet name my husband James has for me. when the time came to create my website many years ago, I didn't want to just use my name...so James suggested 'By Bun', and it's stuck ever since!

Roxanne, loved every second of this sketchbook tour !Hearing your thoughts and feelings about each page made it so special.QUESTION: Do you still use Paper Artsy Paint and where do you source it? I was wondering if there is an alternative that is more readily available ?Any help would be greatly appreciated.
@bybun5 жыл бұрын
thank-you so much! to answer your question, YES I still use and love Paper Artsy Fresco Acrylics. it's safe to assume that any acrylic paint I use is Paper Artsy paint. you can of course, buy it directly from their website - or if you're in the U.S. another great place is online through Frantic Stamper: www.franticstamper.com/Fresco-Acrylic-Paints_c_4868.html

Where do you buy your sketchbooks? Or do you make them yourself?
@bybun5 жыл бұрын
I typically buy my sketchbooks on Amazon...I'm often way too lazy to make them myself (lol). To see one of my handmade ones, you can see one in the 'Messages' video series here on the channel.
