Hi. Thanks for the video. I’ve had my Atto 3 since August 22 and really appreciate it. I had a Tesla MY RWD unfortunately destroyed in an accident in October. The BYD suspension is much softer which I certainly prefer. The BYD is an excellent introduction into EVs and I have zero regrets buying it.

@@Dom-bn1ru Absolutely! It surprised me this this morning by having Apple wireless Car Play available to me. Maybe the iPhone 15 I now have, not sure. Works so well.

The Atto 3 with the same Kms is available for about $38K plus on roads so about what I'd expect. I paid $48K but with a $3.5K government rebate so $44.5 plus on roads.

Sickly feeling at first was probably the strong new car smell it gave off, which was worse than any other new car I have bought or been in. Fortunately, it went away. The worst thing I have experienced is the blind spot feature turning itself off for no reason, which it has done a few times. You think you are being warned and discover it's not working, which is very unsafe. It has a few gremlins like that which spoil it a bit, but there are plenty of positives that still make it a good buy. No car is perfect.

Indeed, its sensors can detect ghosts. So, the phantom breaking is a nuisance we have to bear with.

@@EVsUndone Blind spot has a cetre console button, and it may have had some early touches before knowing what it did. Since learning of it, it has worked fine because nobody touches it. It is crazy to have it as an easy to reach toggle though. I would rather it switch to BYD when android phone is connected, which is a pain through the screen.

Owned my Atto 3 for just over a year now. Absolutely love this car. There have been 4 OTA software updates in that time and each one has tuned out various annoyances and improved the car. Best changes were dropping the "possessed dial tone" pedestrian alert tone, and last one has really greatly improved the lane guidance. Not constantly alerting and it's much more subtle in the lane corrections. Being objective, I sincerely believe the build quality of the BYD is better than Tesla too. I quite often get Teslas through Uber and Didi and notice two things: 1. The ride in a Tesla is much harder on bumps compared to BYD, 2. Teslas often have body rattles and squeeks, whereas my Atto 3 (touch wood) is still silent inside.

You are absolutely right. Atto 3 is bit more silent and feels like it’s better built. But I think the new Tesla model 3 is significantly better than the legacy model 3. I like them both but certainly for distinct things.

Comparing it to a tesla is not an apples to apples comparison . Tesla is 2x the price than an atto. Appreciate your thoughts on this since it’s something to think of just in case i consider buying the atto as my 1st electric vehicle.

Please stop the -ve marketing of any car without being conversant with the car on the initial few hrs of driving. Whatever, the cars are designed by experts, in comparison with peer ones one may weigh high or low. That doesn't mean you have the free social networking start hurting everyone out there. Think positive and be in purview of the subject. BYD is doing a great job, hail them rather than cornering on petty things.

Hi Mate, I am planning on buying this car. Do you have any problems with the aircon? I've read few comments from other owners saying they have like loud buzzing sound from the aircon when turned on.

@@gotha I have not had any such issues with Aircon, just that if you have most of the vents physically closed, and then aircon is on full fan speed, then you can hear a sound of wind squeaking. But that’s more on the user’s issue in my understanding

BYD rep was with me on the test drive. Test drive was for half an hour but for half of that time, the Sales rep was driving the car. And the test drive was not on freeway. But saying that I like driving the BYD, specially after the last software update.

So fast but also really easy to cruise about and drive chilled. I want one of them now but unfortunately not available on my lease scheme.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Just confirming Firstly how is 10k difference in price Got calculated as 10%. Secondly, if you add on FSD that’s 11000 more. And when and if it will be legalised is a big uncertainty. And worst case scenario the people who bought BYD can enjoy the car until that happens, and then switch if and only if they feel like using FSD. And I totally agree Tesla FSD solution is way beyond any other car manufacturers. But the matter of the fact is that not everyone is similarly inclined to use it.

Indeed, cars like other things have the risk of exploding, although ICE cars do have the similar risks and BYD used blade batteries in there new cars including atto 3, which does have more resistance to heat and explosion in cells.
