I made some choices that were not the best always after in my teen years but the father had heard my cry early on and lifted me up each time. This song reminds me of how Moses led the people out of Egypt and then had to guide them for decades of wandering in the wilderness. Moses was already 80 years old when God called Moses to this task. It seems to me that Moses needed the forty years of experience shepherding sheep before he would be up to the task of shepherding people in a similar way for another forty years.
