Berton and Prescott have a message for fans during another lousy day in paradise.
In a desire to aid fellow musicians who have been adversely impacted by the COVID-19 epidemic, The Knack, and its publishing administrators, Reach Music, have pledged to donate the first quarter 2020 digital streaming royalties for "My Sharona" -- which have seen an uninvited uptick due to the crisis -- to Music Health Alliance, a Nashville-based organization that provides healthcare support services to uninsured members of the music industry.

I DESPISE radio edits. I used to be a DJ and newscaster on a small radio station in NH - an Adult Alternative station, so we didn't often play edits, but when some years later, I worked at an "oldies" station (mostly 60s and 70s), EVERYTHING was edit. Keith2732, you asked why they do that. It's done to fit X amount of music into a time slot, and have room for what pays the bills: commercials. Typically edits are 2:30 long. They always suck. In this house we ALWAYS yell at the radio when they play edits right along with you, senormedia.

Berton Averre .... Greetings and salutations ..No sir, sorry, I am not your friend Scott. I am just an old friend of Jeff Johnson’s and a retired music company executive . Add in simply a person who has had the songs, stylings , pure fun and joy of The Knack be a vital part of my life’s soundtrack. Jeff’s songs and band “Another Carnival” are/were fabulous, he got his songs out there and he had his shot. While being a rock star so to speak is obviously quite nice I always thought and told him once that heck, you get to be part of and support the guys and the family of The Knack. We are in this world professionally one way or another because we love music , especially pure rock n roll.... is there anything or one that embodies that more purely then the blast of joyful energy that is The Knack ? Not bad work young Jedi, we are all going to be ok.. Hope you and those that matter are huddled close and safe. As we know there is enough loss and darkness in our lifetimes and our time is finite and moving way too fast. . Thank you again for the video and a little dose of your classic playing. Keep on, maybe a new stage musical coming from you, ha.? Be so very well ......

Hi Berton . you're a Master , I know that idea the My Sharona belong to you and speaking about the guitar solo , but a .......it is simply extraordinary, out of the ordinary, it is of another level. If we talk about Ace Frehley inventing tapping and Eddie Van Halem perfecting it, we can definitely say that you invented this unique style of guitar solo where it seems that two guitars are playing at the same time, Thanks for your tremendous contribution to Rock, the song My Sharona is eternal and the guitar solo has the signature of Berton Averre, I am a fan of The Knack and its guitarist who is a source of pride and a school for many Rock bands, a big hug from Lima, Peru. Cal-Vic De la Torre Roberts.

To me this exactly like when I watch that studio guitar lesson of Zakk Wylde breaking down miracle man solo. You can hear acoustically how absolute savage their right hand is and feel the guitar begging for mercy. That’s note perfect to the recording like some Randy Rhoads doubled solo off Diary Of A Madman. When guitar gods play they have a shield around them you can’t enter. Sorry to wank on but this just gives me so much of a good feeling I can’t describe it. A 100% for Guitar World Magazine top 100 solos of all time every freaking year.
