'Bye-Ya' by Thelonious Monk is a 32-bar Latin-tune in AABA-form. The A sections are played with a "Latin" feel with swung eighth notes. The B section moves into a walking bass line in the left hand.
The song went through a few name changes. It was originally called "Playhouse" after Minton's Playhouse. During recording the song was renamed "Go", but because of the Latin influence, "Go" became "Vaya" and finally, it was mistakenly written as "Bye-Ya".
