但是对于中国人而言，中国恐怕不是个适合生活的地方。沿海城市聚集了中国大量的财富，当你只看中国的发达地区时你会觉得中国十分富有。 教育层面，在中国把一个孩子培养成人(注意不是培养成才)的成本位居全世界第二(第一是韩国)。而且中国的学校也普遍糟糕，你不能光看清北等名校，大量的山区小学，职业教育，可谓是一塌糊涂。很多计算机学院的编译器也就是vc6.0，而且职业教育还频繁爆出生孩子，吸毒等事件。 为什么新闻上没有恶性事件？那就要谈谈中国的新闻自由度了。 中国的言论管控堪称世界第二严(第一是北朝鲜)。如果你在网上发表反对中共的言论，警察很有可能请你喝茶。当然啦，这是建立在伟大的墙之上的，像我这种能直接与你对话的中国人真心不多。 治安方面，也得归咎于言论管控。大城市的治安好着这毋庸置疑，小城市即使出现犯罪也难以报道。我家之前造入室盗窃，损失了近2玩人民币，警察就过来看了一眼，“你以为是立案了？其实我让你回去等通知。” 工作方面，中国的劳动法完全是一张废纸。中国具有世界上最大的人矿，竭力压榨这些人矿是中国发展迅猛，基建完善的原因。廉价劳动力，😅呵，多么可笑啊。 综上，来中国旅游，很棒，因为你可以花比发达国家少的钱享受人上人的待遇。至于长期定居中国，😅😅😅

I encountered not being able to open a bank account when I stayed in Shanghai 3 months on 3 occassions in the 2 years before Covid. It did make things difficult because majority of people use phones to pay for things now and there I was using cash for everything. Sometimes shops literally did not have cash in their cash register. Then when I go there to order somebody had to go to a backroom and get cash since they didn't need to use that for any other customer. Another time I was at a bubble tea place in a mall. There was not even anyone using the cash register to take orders or payments, only someone bringing out the orders that people had already ordered and paid for on their phones and they asked me why didn't you order ahead of time like everyone else.

Why couldn't you open a bank account? I have managed it with my passport. It does get a little bit complicated and not all banks accept passports, but China Merchants Bank does. Also, WeChat accepts foreign credit cards, but I don't know if there are any other fees.

@@xucg I went to multiple banks at the time. They all said to me I needed to have a Chinese ID these days to open a bank account. And then I also tried to get the ability to pay with Wechat or Alipay. For the Wechat one it asked me for a Chinese credit card, which I did not have since I also did not have a bank account. For the Alipay one, I remember sending in Passport photo for it but still couldn't get them to give it to me. I'm sorry. I forgot the reason. It was 4 years ago.

@@katy8605 This is very strange indeed. Since there are many foreigners living in China, how can these people use digital payments if they cannot have a Chinese account? But in fact almost all foreigners use digital payments. Alternatively, as a compromise, you can ask a Chinese person to give you a "relative card", which means that you can use his card via WeChat. You can then transfer the money to his card.

Welcome back. I was traveling there when the country was still close last year. Yeah, I was quarantined for 8 days in Guangzhou, the facilities was really good though. The anxiety was triple back then 😂 what with Guangzhou was on their COVID peak and traveling to Shanghai directly was cut off. Oh God… But heh, i survived and I experienced Shanghai in their least touristy time. The Nanjing road was quite empty back there.

Foreigner can open Chinese bank account but bigger banks require more than 6month visa, smaller bank has no such requirements, so try smaller bank.
