I’m from the US and I studied abroad in Poznan in the summer of 2021. I absolutely loved Poland and I hope to go back one day! For now, I’m getting ready to teach English in China this fall!

Thanks Kaja for the video. I moved to Warsaw recently and started following you before I moved in Poland. I find your videos helpful and interesting too. I went to Poznan couple of weeks ago for a work trip but yes bit disappointed as construction is going on. Still I liked it.

@@KajaKubicka I have been thinking about coming and staying in Poland for maybe something like 6 months and then continuing to Czech Republic or Germany. Do you have any opinion on what would be better place for someone that doesn't care about museums or night life that much, but likes beatiful scenery to photograph and places where one could get regular exercise with bicycling (meaning longer +50km tripps preferable on bicycle roads not on regular roads with cars and busses). I was thinking maybe Sopot or Poznan, but I really have no idea about Poland so maybe you have some opinion on this? I work on the internet so it doesn't matter where I'm physically.

Hi Kaja, I see that you haven't visit a great neighbourhood in Poznań called Jeżyce. Imo best what Poznań has to offer! That's a pity you were only walking around city center. Jeżyce has the best restaurants, lovely murals and little streets. Also Łazarz has their own and unic vibe. Higly recommended to come back. Btw. the construction on Saint Martin street is finished.

so i do really love ur honesty, its better than acting like everything is so amaaaazing all the time - like the rest. yet, this construction site is nothing! try porto! you literally cant even see the other side of the square. everybody loves porto, but porto also was telling me i shouldnt be there. rain, all the time, construction, small problems etc.

Actually there's a little beef between Poznań and Gniezno for the name of Poland's birthplace. It was assumed for many years that Gniezno is older but I think some historical research from this century started to question that + it is believed that in Poznań cathedral lies genuine corps of Poland's first ruler ancestors.

It's customary to assume that the capital was Gniezno. There is no written evidence for this. The archaeological evidence contradicts this. It is known that there was the first bishopric there. 11:26 The outline of the palatium and the first stone church can be seen by the small 14th century church behind you( kościół Najświętszej Marii Panny). These are glass green and blue walls. These were the first stone buildings in Poland. Palatium is the seat of Mieszko I and Bolesław Chrobry. They were the most magnificent buildings in Poland even in the times of Bolesław the Bold.

If you wanna partner up for travel sometime I'm willing to do Poland this season. I don't really get to travel much tho. We can see and explore Krakow, Auschwitz, Wroclaw, Katowice, etc. This would be my first time in Poland and it's convenient because I live in Dresden which is much closer to the Polish border.
