This is a good book. Does provide a step by step introduction to how to build things kzbin.infoUgkxhgbP-6hUnXu_QRaoHgLztgsI0YF3HqR0 , also does offer some steps. Includes pictures to give you ideas for layouts and such. If you are looking for a guide, this is not exactly what you want. But if you are trying to familiarize yourself with the way that pole barn building and other out buildings, are made, then this will work just as you need it to. A few things in this book are a barn (of course), detached garage, storage building, and coops.

This was by far one of the most rewarding projects I've ever been a part of and its all thanks to the amazing people I was able to work with. Can't wait for the next one and to share a laugh or two along the way ;)

Question from a guy who has only ever lived in the Midwest: Here (in Missouri), we have to dig our footings about 20" deep because of the frost line. Of course there is no frost line in Florida, so footings don't have to be nearly that deep in that respect. However, in sandy areas such as where you are working, wouldn't you need to dig deeper to more stable soil? I could be totally wrong, but I'm just curious.

Use a jackhammer to dig. It'll make it easier to go through those roots- or most anything that gets in your way. 35 years of construction experience. Also, put a nail at your grade, if you're not pouring to the top of the form.

I used a chain saw, using the tip and ground down my stump till it was below grade it will rot out. Pulling them up was just too difficult for me. I believe they rent stump grinders that are easily maneuverable no big equipment

We thought about that but unfortunately there was no chance getting any large stump grinding equipment down there. Thanks so much for watching and the continued support :)

Didn't you destroy your chain in a few seconds making so? It's very easy to catch some ground and I remember that dulled my chain immediately when I tried to cut a stump to ground level. Also, it's very risky to use the tip of the chain saw!

Everything looks really good. Just wondering if the non-post ends are ever bracketed in any way. Of course there isn't any room to bring equipment in on these kinds of houses. All that shoveling had to really suck. At least it gives tradesmen plenty of work with them having to build everything off of the ground. Saw some houses where the "backyard" is just a giant deck over rocks, though they did have a couple feet width of real yard on the sides.

I keep hearing you say 'heighth' (ending with a 'th') in your videos (mostly in the voice over, but there was one instance in this one where it was camera audio. Is that something that others in your region pronounce too? I have heard another youtuber pronounce it that way, but can't remember who. Do you even notice it? edit: not trying to have a go at you, or tease. Just interesting. I am from Australia, so I cop it from my wife's american and canadian relos for my accent and the way I pronounce things.

Thanks for mentioning it in a KIND way. Most don't haha. I do understand that I say it oddly/incorrectly and most say it the correct way. I really don't know how it started but I've always said it like that. Most likely its because I'm dyslexic and when reading the word "height" my brain always read it as 'Heigth". Thanks for watching and hope you enjoyed the video.

@@BYOTools Dyslexia is a perfect explanation for it, and it doesn't detract from the videos or your narration - I love the detail you go into explaining why you do certain things the way you do them. Love your videos and the projects you do!

I don't think you need to use 4 per post on those little rebar stilts, save some money and balance it on 2 while getting a little dirty and hold it level while the concrete goes in

Definitely not a cheap project so I guess every little area of savings counts :)

Get an SDS max rotary hammer + spade tool. It punches through small roots. It's worth it because you can also use it to pound ground rods, drill stone/cement, and more

Thats an amazing idea with the spade tool! Thanks so much for the suggestion. I'll have to keep that in mind on the next project for sure.

what part of FL are you in? I'm down here near Ft Myers and our codes are rough. No way would I be allowed to get that done in one week! I'd need 2-3 damn inspections.

Is it just me or does EVERY maker/builder on KZbin say "heighth"? That is not a word. It's "height". Is it just comment baiting (done on purpose to get idiots like me to leave a comment) or do you honestly not know the correct word? I'm not insulting (so all you perpetually offended people can try and relax) I'm genuinely curious.
