Thanks for this review! I was very curious about this palette. Thought you might like to know: Scylla and Charybdis, Greek mythology, two immortal and irresistible monsters who beset the narrow waters traversed by Odysseus in Homer's Odyssey. Scylla was a six-headed monster who lived on a rock on one side of a narrow strait who would seize and devour sailors and Charybdis was a whirlpool on the other side. Pronounced Silla and Care-ib-dis.

Thank you for such a detailed review! I got Sciomancer for Xmas as per your recommendation! Wonderful. I tried to wait for your review to buy Syren, but failed by two days!! 🤭 pretty relieved you don’t hate it... 😂😅 it’ll be coming with corporate and I cannot wait to use all the greens together!! I used the green from sciomancer blended into by terry ombré black star in mercure and that worked really, really well. The formula is so unique I was a bit stumped as to how to make it more wearable! Thanks again for some colour and distraction in these long days of lockdown and homeschooling.. 😍 unsolicited book recommendation: Circe by Madeline Miller if the palette has put you in the mood for some Greek Mythology!! Forgive me, I blame lockdown.. 😂😂

Hi Lexi. The names are greek mythology sea creatures. So interesting! Love your looks. I am not sure if I will like working with such bright colors and taking the time to apply lightly! Also, the varying consistencies of the byredo products has put me off buying them. Especially the multi sticks. Even though I love one of the lipstick colors on you!

Thanks M.K.! It looks like I need to freshen up on my mythology. I loved it as a child. Byredo definitely won't be for everyone. I am so curious as to whether the inconsistencies are intended or not. It's weird to me but they aren't bad, just different.

Im going to be honest, I love the packaging, hated most of the shades, but that gold shadow!!!!! it looks wonderful. Do you know of a dupe for that gold eyeshadow?

Hi Rosamary - I have not been able to find anything close to the gold eyeshadow at all. The gold shade in Syren has a soft coppery gold base but more of a taupey-silver overlay and it creates this beautiful shade. I have swatched everything remotely close and nothing I have is even similar enough to share. I have tried layering some shades as well but the undertones are not right so the overall look just doesn't work. I'm so sorry but it looks like this shade is pretty unique in my collection!

I have the Syren. At first I was confused they're not as pigmented as in the pan. But then I watched Ismaya French the Byredo mua and she used the Sciomancer only with fingers. Thats what I did and the eye looks I got were very pretty. I especially love how she was like "dont think too much. just swipe on your eyes. be creative. have fun!" 😁 I didnt like the color story of Sciomancer at first. But when I watched your swatches in your review, it got me thinking 🤩 I will get this palette but only after all the spring collections have dropped.
