These highlights are really exciting but also kinda terrifying. I love his aggressive style and his consistency but he scared me against Jordy Nelson. At least it's only that one highlight of him and Nelson that scared me, the rest were all pretty solid.
@IgglezHighlightz9 жыл бұрын
Notes: Strengths: 1) Size - at 6'1 207bs hes a very big corner. 2) Press - Does a good job of getting in the wrs face and disrupting the timing of the route. 3) Tackling - Does a good job of wrapping up, and when the effort is given 100 % he can lay the wood. 4) Speed - Doesn't get beat deep. Sea puts their corners on islands, and Maxwell never lets someone get behind him. Hes given up catches, but they were mostly fixable problems. For instance against Washington, he was lined up with djax for about 8 plays and was step for step with him everytime. And the one play he did give up to djax, he tripped up but still made the tackle. 5) Lateral quickness - Shows good change of direction speed and can keep up with the quicker reciever. 6) Awareness - Shows good awareness, and is a very smart player at sniffing out screens. 7) Ball skills - Does a great job at locating the football and has a knack for knocking the football out of the air. Also has 6 interceptions the last 2 seasons. 8) Man coverage - Does a good job of sticking with his man, and even if he gives up the catch he always makes the tackle to limit yac. Weaknesses: 1) Zone coverage - maybe its just me, but a lot of times when playing deep zone he would cheat over to centerfield which was ets job, and thus would leave his zone open. This will be interesting to see how people scheme for that. 2) conservative vs run - Its not a lack of effort, but he always has the "Make sure he doesn't get pass me, just make the tackle" kind of attitude. Has the ablility to really lay the wood, but usually just makes sure the rb doesn't get behind him for a big gin. This will decrease the amount of run stuffs he has but it will also limit the amount of big runs to his side. 3) Beats inside - Im not sure if its because they like to have their corners focus on the deep ball and not getting deep, but he seemed to get beat inside. Hes got the athleticism to avoid that but he seemed to give up the inside.

Great vid man i hope nolan carrol will be are 2nd string corner back because carrol has tons of speed and is pretty good at press as well, him and maxwell would be a awesome duo not to mention the fact that we have complimentary DB's in Eric rowe and Malcolm Jenkins, and lets not forget are excellent nickle back in Boykin even though this roughly might be his last year in philly because things aren't going well between him and chip kelly

EaglesFan4Life 98 Tbh I would love for rowe to win. Hes so talented. For his size hes a phenomenal athlete. But ppl are sleeping on carrol. And I cant stand it when people say he couldn't beat out fletcher or Williams. He was clearly better than them in both training camp and regular season. It was just a combination of injuries delaying him and the need for a dime linebacker.

I know these are highlights so obviously it's only showing Maxwell doing good...but if he can just get his hands on the ball 1-2 times a game, keep everything in front of him, and continue to be a sound tackler that's more than enough for me. Despite what we're paying him he doesn't have to be anything special, just simply do your job. Eagles were the 7th-best defense in terms of points allowed from week 5-17 in 2013. We didn't really have any stars. No one did anything extraordinary, just their jobs each play. Now Chip put together an upgraded roster on defense that can do its job and more. I think we can really be top 10 this year if the offense just stops turning it over.
@IgglezHighlightz9 жыл бұрын
Brian Dawkins That's pretty much what Maxwell is. From what I watched he struggled quite a bit in 2013 but rly improved in2014. Its odd because pff rated him as like a top 5 cb in 2013 but 23rd or so in 2014. But I will tell you what I saw from him on the tape. 1st off hes got excellent speed and doesn't get beat deep. Vs the redskins he was lined up man to man with no help with djax. Every play he was pressing but was still step for step with him downfield. Only times he gets beat deep is when he gets too aggressive and overruns the play, which didn't happen much. In man coverage he did a good job staying with the wrs. The thing I noticed is even when he would give up the catch he would make the tackle right away. In my opinion its zone coverage where he struggles. sometimes he leaves his zone to help a guy alrdy in a zone and then lets someone in his zone open. In the run game hes strong, and a good tackler. But I feel like hes more conservative. Not lazy or scared but lets the rb come to him. So he gets the tackles but he rarely goes for big hits. He is also very good at playing the ball in the air and punching the ball out of peoples hands. He should be rly good for us. Thanks for watching.
@briandawkins71089 жыл бұрын
Igglez Highlightz gonna watch that Redskins game now. Good info. Also I wonder how many times it looks like he's making a conservative tackle when really he's just going for the forced fumble, like D Thomas in the Super Bowl
@IgglezHighlightz9 жыл бұрын
Brian Dawkins There was 1 play vs the redskins where he gave up a catch but he tripped up alittle bit and then made the tackle. Its been a few months so i don't remember each exact play but that's how i recall the 1 play he got beat. When i say hes a conservative tackler i mean hes not extremely aggressive against the running backs. usually makes the tackle but doesnt outgo himself. He can land hard hits though. When he goes all out on a tackle he can do some damage.

i counted numerous times he got there before the ball, im sorry but he got away with alot and idk why since the leagues emphasized on being less physivcal on receivers but he does have good sz needs to be better polished not a number one corner tho he was strong because of the system hes solid but way over payed
@IgglezHighlightz9 жыл бұрын
Joel0847able 1. Tons of penalties on him. Doesn't get away with it a lot.2. He's pretty polished. Only real issue is the penalties.3. He's a number one. Hes got the potential to be an elite corner. Right now, hes not elite, but he's certantly more than an average corner.4. That's a myth. The system didn't really do anything for him. They play a lot of single high safety, which puts the corners on islands, and has the safety playing centerfield. And with Sherman being avoided, they targeted Maxwell. Having earl Thomas helps, but he more then held his own. 5. Overpaid, but not way overpaid.Contract:y1: 8my2: 9my3: 11mFor example Claiborne on the cowboys has a 12.8m cap hit. After the 3 years, you can cut him for no loss.
@jarvasedundy19 жыл бұрын
He looks above average to me looks like he got beat a few times in the opening part of the video that interception Aaron Rodgers threw was on the WR part he clearly beat Byron but Byron just got a tipped INR I think every corner that play along side of Sherman will also benefit from Earl Thomas as well they are overrated just like Browner was
@IgglezHighlightz9 жыл бұрын
Jarvase O'Brian dundy Hes much better than "above average". Some of those plays were given to him, but overall his tape was good, and so far in tc he has been impressive. And that's a myth. The seahawks put their corners on islands, and have et play centerfield. So yes et helped, but they put a lot of responsibility on bmax and he did well. Remember when bmax got injured? Well they got exposed with the next cb. That's a big reason for their early losses. That's not to say hes the reason they win and lose, but his loss was felt.
@jarvasedundy19 жыл бұрын
Igglez Highlightz hmmm I'm not saying he sucks I just feel he benefits from the best FS in the game Earl Thomas just like Browner

I like BMax but Philly is still a 2nd tier football team. 1 safety and other CB are unknown or weak. Thurmond is NOT a safety. Solid front 7. Bradford is a China doll. Murray is good n lucky gore didn't sign. 2 OG are below avg. Barbre couldn't make it in Seattle. U signed Moffitt, too? That's 4 ex hawks on ur roster. Wr's are pedestrian. Yes, Matthews is OK. Great in green shades but NFL = OK.
@IgglezHighlightz9 жыл бұрын
Rick Darcy What do you mean by 2nd tier? if you mean they r behind packers and sea then sure. 1. Nolan carrol isn't unkown. He has been a starter. And id say he had a pretty good game today. Thurmond IS a safety. In this scheme the safety plays 50% centerfield and 50% slot. Thurmond was one of the best slot corner, so he has 50% down, and by playing in the slot he has experience playing on the inside. His transition should be fine. Elite front 7. Not solid. Bradford has injury problems but if healthy, has a ton of upside. Guards are about average. Not below avg. They are great run blockers, but shaky in pass pro. barbe would be a starter in seattle. Moffit is a low risk high potential guy. Wow, 4 ex seahawks. So many. Wr's are not pedestrian. Young, and unproven? yes. But jmatt will take the next step, same with huff. And agholor should step in day 1. Mathews is rly good. Do you watch the games?
@rickdarcy86899 жыл бұрын
+Phil Hill not a troll. very accurate assessment. I live in Philly plus I know the schemes n ex hawk players. Thurmond is NOT a safety. kids like u either say moronic phrases like hater or troll. how about I know these players n am not a homer like philly fans are.
@rickdarcy86899 жыл бұрын
+Igglez Highlightz Nolan Carroll? hahaha... philly fans r so bi-polar. u r all blinded by preseason games. I listened to mike miss, Joe decamara and some homer at night Lombardo. u win a preseason game n its now 12-4. haha. I remember last year. sal pal came on weekly n said 12-4 w SB appearance. Go 9-3 and then finish 1-3. now its a practice game and more hyperbole. I'm sure Rowe is the next Sherman. Malcolm n Walter r arguably the WORST tackling safety tandem in the NFL. STOP with ur green tinted glasses. I know too much ball to fall for ur trash. the Eagles are the IF IF IF IF IF team. I've never heard so many if this, if that... it's pathetic. those are facts and can't be argued. I hear 97.5 driving. ur fan base is pathetic.
@rickdarcy86899 жыл бұрын
+Phil Hill if this, if that.... I listen to 97.5 driving. ur fan base is ignorant outside of ur team. mike miss had a name 4 guys from other NFL teams and no one could get more than 2. sal pal is the president of the over hype and over state eagle teams. If, If, If.... not a troll. called philly smack talk. same talk I gave when the hawks came to the Linc and bitch slapped y'all in the mouth. chip Kelly is no genius w a grt scheme. 49ers shut out ur offense and u had 135 yds vs Seattle. philly is always over hyped and always under delivers.... I know.. I live there, unfortunately...
@IgglezHighlightz9 жыл бұрын
Rick Darcy In this scheme walter Thurmond is a safety. His skills fit it very well. And safeties such as Malcolm Jenkins and mccourty are converted cbs. And judging by thurmonds performance on Saturday, I can assume that hes made a nice transition.

Luan-Vu Tu with that being said .. hes still better then Brandon Fletcher. Lol.
@IgglezHighlightz9 жыл бұрын
Luan-Vu Tu Agree with you that we overpaid. definitely over paid. with that being said you have to overpay to get good players in free agency i.e. suh. And trust me he's more than a solid corner. very talented. struggles with zone a little bit but other than that is a very good cb. Byproduct, I don't think so but we will see. Sea kept their outside corners on islands and had a single high safety most of the time. so not much safety help, and rly relies on their cbs individual skills. But we will see if he's the real deal or not.
@Ceesky009 жыл бұрын
What you didn't just see my bro win one-on-one after one-on-one? What were you watching cuz? This man is an excellent press man corner, that's what the Eagles do, that's why he was worth overpaying for. Product of what? Good coaching? A focus on fundamentals and technique? Yeah that's what the Eagles have in Coach Undlin (DB Coach). He doesn't get beat, and like the Seahawks the Eagles D will play to his strengths. Dumbass comment nigga, take a seat.
@whoaitstu9 жыл бұрын
Christian Carter First off, calm the hell down. He's a by product of the system and the players that are around him. Overpaying is not a good thing. The Eagles dont have close to the type of defense the Seahawks have. Like I said before .. You're paying him like a top 5 corner when he's not even in the top 10. Leave your fanboy tendencies outside of a real discussion, Sensitive Sam.
