Thompson fit in with the Lakers instantly. That first game against the Celtics was amazing.

Loose Cannons with MT, Steve Hartman and Vic the Brick Jacobs was one of the most fun and endearing sports radio talk shows of all time.

I recall watching The University of Minnesota vs. Dick Vitale's University of Detroit Titans at Callahan Hall in Detroit. Michael Thompson Ray Williams Osborne Lockhart and Kevin McHale. McHale was a freshman and boy oh boy all we could say was "damn!!! he's a FRESHMAN?" That was one heck of a team. However, I didn't realize Flip Saunders was also on that team. Four future NBA players!!!! Not to mention that U of D had Terry Tyler John Long and I think Dooooooo Terry Duerod also on that team coached by Dick Vitale!!! Those were the days.

When mychal Thompson mentioned how his 3 sons grew up to care about other people's feelings, & care about people less fortunate, that HIT HEAVY MAN!🤔😥

Mr. Thompson alright with me! I always heard of his name of course because of Klay. But I never looked into Mr. Thompson. I must say, he’s a very well spoken brother & this was a great interview more like old teammates talking basketball & memories! Again great interview Mr. Scott.

Sir Michael Thompson sure miss your voice and knowledge during work time and talk radio, I'll never forget the way you put people in their place when they were degrading the American soccer team, you stood up for them boys by calling out an announcer that said something like, if LeBron James had played soccer or any other big name NBA player, they would dominate soccer.... The guy saying that must not have been a great athlete, and you pinpointed it when you said, what an insult to pro players, are you kidding me they'll run circles around LeBron.. And I don't like soccer but I love truth I miss you man
