Dude was so underrated and ahead of his time in the league

Seeing Byron with anyone other than the showtime lakers is weird.

I have yet to see this highlight. Pretty sure it was 88-89 season Western Conference Finals against Phoenix. Byron came from the top of the key, Jumped at the foul line, had the ball in two hands, put it behind his head as he rose up through the lane Byron brought that ball with both hands forward for one of the most powerful jams i have ever seen. Byron Scott had it tough early on in his career but he showed his mettle and toughness to become a Champion and more importantly a Laker Legend. Not many backcourts better than #32 & #4

Dude was a lot more athletic than I thought (I'm 26 lol)

He was a very good guard. He did everything well: shoot, pass, rebound, defend, dribble and play make. And he was very strong too.

When I was a kid, we had no team in Miami, and I really liked the Celtics, but I always regarded Byron Scott as the prototype basketball athlete. He could strangle the rim on a dunk and then feather it through the net on his next shot. He could leap off two feet or one. There was no part of his game that was weak.

Byron Scott would shoot more if he played now, his % would be better, he was a great player who played for the team, not for numbers.

How the hell was Byron Scott never an all star?

Drexler and MJ were the best SG's during his era, but I got your point. B. Scott played like an all star during the Showtime Lakers

There’s was way too much talent at the top. The league back then was quite top heavy.

The year he let the Lakers in scoring he should've been. He definitely should've beat out Alvin Robertson that year smh. 87-88 season.

His career is very similar to Jamal Murray as of right now. If Murray retired today we would wonder down the line how he never made an All-Star. Weird circumstances around both players, but integral to championship teams.

Bryon came back to the Lakers his last season in the league. It was also Kobe's rookie season. Shaq had been with the Lakers a few seasons by then. I grew up a Showtime Lakers fan. I was stationed in Germany in the USAF through the last half of the 90's and I randomly saw Kobe and Tracy McGrady walking through Disneyland Paris after his rookie season. :)

@HealthyMBS1 Actually Kobe's rookie season and Byron Scott's last year, was Shaq's first season with the Lakers
