A dad helping his daughter with her hair isn't a random act of kindness. It's being a loving parent. Have we really come to the point where so many people have had bad and neglectful parents that this seems extraordinary? How terribly sad.

at the 11:50 the song is DINDI composd by Tom Jobim(1927-1994) and Aloysio de Oliveira(1914-1995) In english the lyrics: DINDI (Tom Jobim e Aloysio de Oliveira) Version by Ray Gilbert Sky, so vast is the sky With faraway clouds just wandering by Where do they go Oh! I don't know, don't know... Wind that speaks to the leaves Telling stories that no one believes Stories of love Belong to you and me Oh! Dindi If I only had words I would say all the beautiful things that I see when you're with me Oh, my Dindi Oh, Dindi Like the song of the wind in the trees that's how my heart is singing, Dindi Happy, Dindi, when you're with me I love you more each day, yes I do, yes I do I'd let you go away if you'd take me with you Don't you know, Dindi I'd be running and searching for you like a river that can't find the sea That would be me Without you, Dindi.

Five years ago, I was about $10 away from becoming homeless living week to week in a cheap motel and barely earning enough to pay for that. My job prevented me from eating at the soup kitchen and I rarely earned enough to spend more than $20 in any given week on groceries. So I had spent an hour picking through the groceries in the store to figure out how to budget my last $10 to make it last until my next pay day which wasn't for another week. I had my selections on the conveyer and was in line and then it was my turn and just as I was thinking that I hoped I had calculated the prices correctly, a nice young woman who was behind me told the cashier to add my items to her bill and she would pay for them as well. I was stunned. Nobody had done that before for me. It was a week before Thanksgiving. I was able to afford a few extra items and eat a half decent Thanksgiving meal when I expected to be eating mac and cheese while drinking tap water. Then the third week of December I found a lottery ticket on the sidewalk and almost dismissed it as a likely losing ticket since nobody would throw such a thing away if a winner. But then I changed my mind and picked it up and later checked the numbers and found I had won $500. Damned near soiled my undies as the cashier was counting out the twenties to me. I figured I owed the universe a little for my good fortune so I decided to give half of it away. I got to to help three people by paying for their groceries that week including a woman with two little children who didn't have enough of a balance on her card to buy a Christmas dinner. With the rest I was able to stretch my food budget and eat nutritious food for a few weeks when added to my normal budget and that until I got a raise and could start putting money away towards a place to live.

That is an amazing teacher. My first grade teacher would taunt and ridicule the most trivial of imperfections of her students and would delight in humiliating us whenever possible but her favorite thing to do was to isolate the lowest performing half dozen students out of a class of around 25 then lead the rest of the class in taunting us and ridiculing us. Basically she taught the remaining students that it was their right, duty and obligation to bully those of us who were not as good as they were. Those in that majority then all, every last one of them, became bullies through the fifth grade. Grade 1 through 5 was a nightmare for me. Then we moved to another district and suddenly it ended and I went from being a C-D student to being an A-B student. That first teacher was a cruel witch (sic) and the other four were simply uninterested. But in the sixth grade I had a wonderful teacher who had a zero tolerance for bullying and taught respect for one another. I remember the first week in September and he took me aside one day at the end of the school day and I thought I was in trouble and instead he just sat me down and asked about my experiences in my previous school and I told him everything and was nearly in tears the whole time. So he asked me to stay after school for tutoring for the first few weeks. The next afternoon he administered a test and then was surprised by the results. I had high marks in reading and math and it turns out that I had actually learned some things despite my poor grades. So he still tutored me a bit but not as much as expected and the end result is I got good grades by the end of the first semester and for the first time ever I actually liked school.

Unfortunately there are quite some "parents" out there that don't. Me(35) and my wife(27) took over the custody of 3 of her nephews (4/5/9) because their dad is a deadbeat... (the mom stepped out of the picture because of her drug addiction and to not affect them with it but they do know she is their mom and why she did it etc). He only cared about the child support he was getting from the government, most of the day he would lock them up in a bedroom with barely anything to play with. Expensive birthday/x-mas gifts he would sell for the $ . Now all 3 have their own room and lots of toys/stuff to play with and the oldest isn't tasked anymore to try and care/get punished for his siblings. Last month was also the first time their dad actually showed up at a zoom meeting in about a year time since he lost custody, he always cancelled them at the last moment even those he requested/demanded. Seeing those boys get out of their shell is just 💗 I won't be surprised if the middle one is eventually gonna come up with official adoption/name change papers since he already asked twice if he could also take on my last name like his aunt. (we also get plenty of help from family since it was quite a thing to go from no kids to suddenly have 3 kids)

Someone doing something nice or loving for a family member, while sweet, is not random it’s what loving family members (husband, son daughter etc) does for those they love. It’s not surprising like a stranger putting his life in danger helping to save a baby from a kidnapper. A father is supposed to do his daughter’s hair if she needs it, being in thus video makes it seem like he’s the ONLY/FIRST father to do this?! Family videos don’t belong under titles like this
