Nothing by Stan ever goes wrong. He had a voice that could melt hearts, and talent that could move mountains. Awesome.

One of my all time favourite Stan Rogers' songs. I often wish Stan were around when more concerts and shows were filmed, so we could see him performing so many of these great songs. Either that, or the CBC could release the Home in Halifax convert on DVD...

Such a tragic loss for the music industry I'd never heard of Stan until they aired Air Crash Investigation. I immediately took his music and always think of the greats lost in similar tragedies. Enjoy this icon of eastern Canada but what a great jewel from Hamilton Ontario. RIP

I just loved Stan. I never met him as he was stopped too soon in his journey. I wrote my tune "Absent Friends" while thinking of him one day. A unique talent and spirit was Stan's. He's timeless to me; he was an old soul and young troubadour. Oh, please someone do a concert dvd on him from archival footage.

Riding the West Coast Express train on my weekdayly commute from Coquitlam to Vancouver, we passed by the unmissable blue & white painted Flying Angels Seafarers Mission along the waterfront; started humming this and just had to hear it oncet I got to me desk boys. Beiber gets eleventy billion hits and only you and me and 4,823 others have seen this. Well blow me down.

beautiful song. you can always tell that someone was a sailor when you see them. Sailors, be they freshwater or saltwater, always have a certain air about them, hard to describe what it is.

Soo Line, Is it about knowing fear, and no, not conquering it. Is it about recognizing that there is a force greater than even the cockiest among us. And a beauty. And a peace. The joy of teamwork. And fear. Fear of water. Fear of lost digits. Fear of fools. All of it overlaid with practical jokes, jests, song, dance, stories, awe, derision, mentoring. And did I mention self control. And waiting. Watching. Night. Sunrise. Sunset. Weather...

That is so sweet ! My little two year-old grand-daughter asks for "gee-tar" which is what she calls The Giant from Stan's first album. It's a good bet that she will be a Stan Rogers fan forever! My sons grew up listening to Stan.

My mother sang to my twin sister, brother, and I every night; up until the night she died! She died at age 39. Still young. With a beautiful heart and voice! I was 13 when she passed, but still remember her voice to this day; as she sang "Eidelweiss" to me, "Under His wings" to my sister, and "Amazing Grace" to my brother. My point is this... Don't stop singing to them while you tuck them in, because believe me, you're making REAL memories! Blessings to you and a happy new year, Washington State USA
