@@buffectomorph9657 I'd say the gross thing is that the Terran can pump out an army on two bases that can keep up with and beat the army a Zerg can produce on five, and that the whole TvZ matchup is dictated by how Zerg struggles so bad with Anti-Air. The match is decided purely by how hard it is for a Zerg to get rid of Medivacs.

if im remembering correctly the gun marines have has a fire rate of like 30 rounds per second, so yeah the stim just basically allowing them to handle recoil better is a very good explanation for why they can fire faster.

I always pictured the stim helping the marines reload faster. There is no reload animation so I figured it was factored into attack speed

My idea about why Stim works is that the Marines stop caring about self preservation thus they stop flinching and they are faster at effectively hitting their target. Or... they just become triggerhappy and the zerg are so many that they either way hit them.

It could also just be performance enhancing drugs which boost their reaction speed and accuracy but cause significant internal damage upon use leading to catastrophic organ failures. Age old thing about how people aren't designed to function at peak performance for a sustained period of time. If you could boost that peak or extend that period of time artificially it makes sense that this would come at a cost to the individual (and also why they don't risk it for ghosts which are already trained to perform near their peak).

@@erikvarga4367 Considering lorewise all the marines originated from a colony of convicts iirc, they might have been used to the process. I'd stim if I thought it would help me get out of the situation but you've got to admit, life isn't great for the Terran Marines. Best case scenario, hopefully painless death from a Zealot Psiblade or a Dark Templar strike. Probable case scenario painful death from Zergling bites or other Marines bullets. Worst case scenario, death from Baneling detonation, Hellion incineration or Hydralisk spines (seriously those spines are massive). Given those prospects it wouldn't surprise me if there was some sort of anesthetic in the stimulant although nothing which would impair combat functionality. Interestingly I think it was mentioned that Spectres and maybe Ghosts use Terrazine to augment their psychic powers. We also know the Reapers have their own cocktail of drugs which is the reason for their rapid healing. It's nice to know humanity's edge to keep up with the aliens is guns and drugs.

There's the Fallout drugs which alter your perception of time but something like that would presumably also need a reaction time boost. It could also just temporarily boost their strength so they can accurately fire fully automatic (we've seen from the cutscenes they usually burst fire but for an Ultralisk I think fully automatic is fair).

Cool thing about today's "stretch goal" of 1224 likes means we've walked the number of YT video's you've posted all year... I'm certain recording a 45 minute video today takes a lot more than an hour. Couldn't say if anyone else is interested, but I'd love to hear about what goes into selecting games to cast, and how to tell if you're phoning it in to stay consistent and when you're excited... or I dunno, insights you have about being a KZbinr doing this (there'd be hundreds more I'm sure if there wasn't a ton of work entailed behind the scenes I presume) would be fun to occasionally hear since you're all filling in the YT niche of the SC2 community... if there's stuff you only openly bring up on stream, it means the YT-only audience (like me) never gets exposed to it... shrugs... proud of you when thinking of first hearing you asking for 1006 likes... keep it up, one day you'll be asking for 12,240 likes... lol and easily get them. Keep it up. = )

The reaper is absolutely the worst unit in the game bar none. Zerglings also deal too much damage for getting 2 for 50, just imba. This is truth, just as it was truth that zealots were imba for over a decade, fucking more health than a siege tank rofl!!! Zerg has been nerfed to the ground a long time ago. You have to take into account the skills of players. Byun isn't really strong. He won world's due to a patch advantage, both the strength of the reaper and the favorable maps. After that patch, down he went. Serral's rise to the top around 2017-2018, maybe even 2019 was due largely to the Zerg favored patch. I didn't like Serral at all back that. After that, Zerg was continually nerfed but Serral matched it with improving skill to remain at the top. That's the GOAT. If a game is balanced, then isn't it natural that the one with the strongest skills win? What's happening is that the game is tweaked to bring down Serral. Skills alone, there's no one to match him. Byun is so far behind Serral.

This is crazy. Zerg is really boring. You don't need drops or nydus because your units are so fast even off creep. You don't even see burrow zerg tactict to shorten deadly distance from range unit just a-move. No bane mines. Queens are absolutely imba, just everything is beyond broken with this unit, they can easily deflect any attack attempt, no need to build defensive structures. So I see marines drop fail, helions fail, banshee fail, liberators fail, and the biggest joke rippers oof, totally useless unit. You want to turtle? Let me introduce ravagers and vipers, because somehow queens (no unit cap), and infestors are apparently not enough casters. Basically same zerg unit composition can beat almost any strategy from terran. Attack move baby, don't forget inject and creep tumors and you are champion. This is more like economy tycoon from zerg perspective and dexterity plus speed from terran perspective. Strategy don't matter, because players apperently don't play RTS.
