This was great. All great forms of inquiry after knowledge and truth have a faith-based element, even the sciences. The trust of the scientific community is just as much a faith process as is any faith in a religious tradition. Thank you Elder Renlund!

Just want to point out that we should seek out God’s solutions (the one who created our bodies and knows perfectly how they work and can heal) to help heal our disease, which can be very different from man’s. Doing nothing but having ‘faith’ vs trusting doctors aren’t our openly options.

Faith has two definitions, it is an action (not passive) and a partial knowledge. Those who told him that Faith alone is inaction are wrong. It is about what or whom you put your faith in. Faith (action) alone can bring miracles but it must be informed with truth (reason). But a full knowledge is not required for action. One can testify that they know, while still exercising faith as an action. They can have a perfect knowledge and still be acting in faith. By Christ's faith the world was created. All things with Christ are possible. Understanding that these words have multiple definitions applied in context make scriptures clear that may otherwise seem conflicting.

You should ask yourself If what you are feeling to do is contrary to the gospel then it is not good, and of the adversary. If what influences you to do good, and is in relation to the gospel, is of the spirit.

I hope that if I ever confuse my professional opinion with revelation, and my opinion turns out to not be true, that I will do everything I can to undo the damage I have caused. There are many people who have left when they see that a medication is not as effective as promised. This could end with transparency and humility.
