Shield hero explanation: the shield hero card make it so every time you block a bullet or stand still you level up, you can only gain one level before you have a cooldown on leveling in which you can’t level up at all. The card is a little broken so when multiple bullets hit your block at one time you gain a level for ever bullet that hits it at the same time, meaning that a shotgun class powers it up extremely fast. The shield class levels make you block again immediately after your first block ends until you have block as many times as you have levels, this of course works well with any damaging block cards.

That one reroll gave you Mechanic, which gives you extra HP when you upgrade by standing still (the yellow circle), among some other things. The upgrades are removed after someone gains a full point I believe, so maybe that somehow set your HP back to normal entirely? With the block spam, you were still pretty much unkillable anyways if you used it.
