That would apparently put an end to the coal and gas trade from Russia, which would go on to make the Russian economy face a collapse that was fixed by militarization. @@ninja6245-real Because in this mod, Russia is a tank/vehicle oriented faction with huge emphasis on offensive tactic rather than defensive tactic. Their tanks while powerful, are rather slow and big (large hitbox) And the GLA (Both in RoTR and Vanilla) often uses stealth, guerilla, high maneuver tactic, ambush, etc. It can be assumed that if you're up against GLA opponents you would be facing with annoying stuff like Hijacker, Demo Traps, Jarmen Kell vehicle stun, Rocket buggy micro accompanied by quad cannon for AA, etc.

I disagree. Although this might be survivors bias since I was specialized in the Russian faction but I can still even beat Normal difficulty GLA with Russian faction. Easy is easy enough, although normal is annoying due to the AI gaining thirty sets of hands and making three buildings simultaneously with money from god knows where. However, a two BMP filled with conscipts strike (both rifle and rpg) is enough to destroy their momentum as long as you focus on their weakest area and fast enough to do it. The annoying part however, is the BM25 grad rush at the five minute mark. If you see those hitting your RPG turrets, you've failed. However, the key to success is Combined arms with infantry filled BMPs and paradropped BMds to garrison or knock-out stinger sites while tanks and anti-air would sweep aircraft, tanks, and infantry as arty destroys ground emplacements. Also to make sure your defense is sound, a few Mi24s and Ka52 Crocodiles for quick aerial response as the Su34's hover aways-away from the base and CAS anything that moves in that area. As long as your economy is good and you've ended reliance on infantry by the 6minute mark, you're good. If not and you haven't even built a weapons bunker by that point:you're fucked.

I too suffered against GLA until I learned to make heavy use of Grizzlies with goggle Conscripts as my main frontline meat shields. Their Hijackers and Bomb Trucks are spotted and killed fast before they reach my tanks, Badgers and Gorgons.

They adapted to western sanctions, they adapted to HIMARS, to Javelins, to enemy drones... That's why NATO's "game changers", will never work. The same with Afghanistan for the Russians, sure it collapsed after the withdrawal but before they did, was it really falling apart before then? The political objectives were fulfilled: Keep it alive. The military objective is also: keep it alive. Not keep it alive even when we're gone. In technicality they did win, but with people still believing that victory is one side collapsing while the other does a victory parade it would naturally look like they lost but is the North's destruction the point? You'll have WWIII if that happens, same shit with Korea. They can only stabilize the line or else the Russians will come. They do not have the political will to continue. Afghanistan for the Soviets is only useful as long as they get victories and the pro government survives, they technically got both but with the point being only survive not crush the enemy's guts and skull fuck their children, they got a forever war. Not good for both the populace and economy. They won the war, on their terms but people call it a loss despite winning and achieving all objectives.
