Күн бұрын

LoloYodel 3 camera/angle video remix (Version3) with the BEST possible soundboard audio (increased by 2.0 dB)
LoloYodel's "Version 3" : revised, revisited, resized, recontrasted, multi-video color integration, better resolution videos ... Hmmmm good !
Everything was done to try and maximize the visual (video) harmony between the 3-4 different video's.
He (Jerry Garcia) was happy and on target this night & The Band was simply perfect ! And arguably the very BEST of a "modern" Jerry Garcia concert.
Incredibly difficult to "absolutely and perfectly" synchronize the video and the audio ... but it's really "there".
Video One : "Lazy Cow" (darker, left of stage), thanks Jon B ! Excellent quality (clearly THE best) but somewhat dark and very Jerry focused but does bring the Jerry intimacy. Modifications : Contrast -10, Width : 104, Height : 106
Video Two : "Obscure_CenterStageC.partial.pro.dvdf" (best quality vs. the various copies received). Pro-Shot (probable local TV) front of stage angle. Modifications : Contrast 20, Saturation -135, Vertical : -4, Width : 110, Height : 110
Only the 1st 3 songs appear here. Others are "missing".
Video Three : wider, left of stage, more colorful video recently signed by "Marbleizing Mike Hardy" (or "Shortiebighead") ... which I only have on set 1. Hmmmm, please ... set 2 ...? Modifications : Saturation -150 to -200, Tone +20, Black Intensity -25, Gain +20 & Red Correction, Black -20 (as the original was WAY too bright) .
Video Four : front of stage, audience Tri-pod camera, with many wide-angle shots. A few generations in there. Modifications : Saturation -100, Vertical 118, Width 118, Rotation 4. Just beginning with song 4 (Run for the Roses) as Video 2 unfortunately stopped there.
This "Jerry Garcia Band" concert was and is still exceptional.
Why ? Perhaps another "Hampton" outing, ... ?
Bruce Hornsby sitting in ...?
Or just Jerry in a good 'ol happy mood ? Or certainly a mix of all that and more !
In any case, the music, energy and smiles are clearly there !
Indeed, a phenomenal JGB show.
Set 1:
How Sweet It Is
He Ain't Give You None
You Never Can Tell
Run for the Roses (The "Bruce" intro !)
Drove Old Dixie Down
I Second That Emotion
My Sisters And Brothers
Ain't No Bread in the Bread Box (2 cam) as "video4" is virtually non-existant

No doubt Toni, I most emphatically agree with ur thought. Guests @ dead shows were always a special feature. The boys and heads also would be so excited to add another accomplished act , & the fact that the guests preferred genre didnt seem to matter when on stage Gd. Marsalis, Hornsby, Kahn, Seals, tower of power, Etta James, beach boys,Airplane, Santana, ABB, the band, Dylan etc,.etc,.etc,.The named examples were top of head, goes to show , there r plenty more of these very special guest appearances.I think The Captain& the boys rose for the occasions, and competition wasn’t what drove the enthusiasm, I think it’s just perhaps the dead played show after show after show w this lineup 1Bob W 2Jerry G.3Bill D.4MickeyH 5Phil L 6 Organ Pk. 7DonnaJean G(if u pk Keith G.) Obviously they love doing it together and seem very fond and secure of one another. Seems the Dead gave&received a lot of respect from all walks of life. Now, we all know the Dead love improvisational rock & that’s why they kick it up a touch and let it rip when Branford Marsalis & his Saxophone joins the Boys for a set. Branford is an incredible improv, rock-n-roll, sax player. When he is the guest, the Dead pull out some wild stuff ,not to one up anybody, ya know, just playin’ out there. Marsalis is a classically trained Jazz Saxophone player. Who also has done quite a bit of acting. But Branford and the DeAd are the Perfect mixture. Especially, Garcia& Branford, out of admiration and love of their craft and from each person’s love of doin different Jazz Fusion/ Rock~n~roll/ Any Genre, nothin defines them as long as it’s Improvisational and it’s good and all of The Grateful Dead & very special guest~ from New Orleans,LA BRANFORD MARSALIS . I believe they have performed at 5-6 venues together, it’s possible they have done more shows together tho as sum events are 3 nights/3 shows. Every time Marsalis put his Steal ur Face uniform on.....He’s come up smellin’ the Roses!🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹 Bruce Hornsby is another successful , and accomplished recording artist as a song writer and a master of the piano. Hornsby & Garcia have been great friends and collaborators and have worked together often in their careers. Now, I think on 2 occasions...they were together at same time to do a dead show Bruce& Branford With hosts~The Grateful Dead . A rarity, but straight up 🔥 fire ... dropping nothin but heat rocks...GD feat. Bruce Hornsby &Branford Marsalis NYE I think it’s 1983or4 in Oakland I’m pretty sure that’s right, it’s an excellent Grateful Dead performance In a lot of folks top 5. Lastly ,the NYE 1982performamce is one of the best : Grateful Dead feat. Etta James& The tower of power I’m a bit biased here be cuz TOP is definitely 2nd favorite behind.... who else The grateful god dam dead. Tower of Power is amazing , funky as all hell, yet that rhythm section is tight as fuck man. I like horns In popular music, tower of power has a horn section, so that every sound is filled , TOP also had a drummer who has recently passed away , but he was bad as hell , on them drums he held it all together . A member from start2finish. They had lead electric guitars, rhythm electric guitars, electric bass, Hammond B-3 organ, and 2 lead singers at an early time in their career. Glad I became a fan of Tower... through them I discovered that there was more out there than GD&PHISH.. sorry & thank u

@@paulbosetti4871 I think Brent actually did. Brent did not like Bruce. The Dead was not the same without him. The thing is it took a while for me to appreciate Bruce.when I he showed up for this show, it was magical and very special plus one of the best double set lists ever. The arena was dark no stupid lights and it worked along with everything. Epic~ness’ at its finest⚡️

garcia just had the best tone... so powerful hi mids, no harsh schrieeeks... that was no accident. read up on his rig if u havn't already. He had the most modern hi tech guitar techs available to anyone in the San Fram bay area; late 60's and on.... OBEL. that is the second cable you see plugged into his guitar. onboard effects loop for delay i think...he started w/ a standard Fender Silverface Twin Reverb for the basic tone, then into a 300 watt power amp then into those JBL's w/ the shiny dust caps... i am not a historian officially anyways, but on this song u can really hear the whole unit well.... :) ps: john kahn has a similar amp set up excep u can see his Fender Bassman as his "tone foundation",, bassman/macintosh power amp/double altec 18's.....

Probably because you just have a very poor taste in what improvisational music and interpretational musicianship is. But thats not your fault. Lack of taste isn't a bad thing. Just keep your opinions to yourself if there not worth hearing or reading. The idea you'd say "Trucking" which is so bandwagon, well. That says and speaks volumes as to what you know about Jerry and the Dead
