Isn’t it a tune of Québécois origin? I think.. or French Canadian of some sort.

Maybe musicians swap tunes. Today quebec composers adapt tunes from french folklore going back to middle-age. It is different of what we were used to hear, reels and jigs. Quebec public need new things in accordance with their past for the new generation. But it does not disqualify the taste for reels and jigs. Here are some tunes you may listen on you tube: Vent du Nord: Au bord de la fontaine and Vent du Nord: La noce tragique with invited singer: Julie Fowlis, a gael singer, who sings in French. Also: Danse traditionnelle québécoise chez Ti-Guy wich is a good adaptation. A real gem. Goodbye, my friend. Mar sin leat, a charaid.

kzbin.info/www/bejne/jarMd5SKjaemhrc&feature=share&EJGixIgBCJiu2KjB4oSJEQ …Here’s the link to their live performance at Celtic Colours Festival, of this set. The description talks a little more about the tunes I think? Or the comments I forgot.

@@erikm8372 The first one is indeed a traditional Québécois tune. The third one as well, although the title I know is Le reel des cinq jumelles (the five twin sisters reel).
