Oh dear!! You found this ancient game of mine!! In those days i was trying to get the most out of this tool made by Dave Hughes out of my appreciation for his work. It was fun trying to push the limits of his tool, but my games where really very hard and i was very early in my learning of game designing. What i loved about CGD was the possibility to have very colorful games and i exploited that as much as i could. In this particolar game i figured how to animate the player (Dave was very pleased with that as this was not a feature of the tool). Classic game Designer (CGD, formerly know as Crap Game Designer) was meant to be used to make games that looked like very early BASIC games. Another fun element of challenge was that you could only use 8x8 characters: if you look closely those yellow stuff are snails and shrimps, which are food fir the little crab

Hmmm, this game is not so Crabby after all. Although even I found it tricky to know where you were on the screen every time you started a new level. Yeah, you're well right when you said there was a lot happening on the screen at the same time. Very confusing to know what's going on. However, it's still a nice looking game and quite playable. 🐟 Well done Gabriele for an addictive nautical game! 😀 As for my favourite sea based games, I absolutely love Scuba Dive by Durrell Software. Absolutely brilliant game that one!! Hydrofool is another game I like too, as well as Booty and Plunder of course. Finally, Battleships by Encore is a nice version of the original pen and paper game too. By the way Nick, I really enjoyed your fast Scatman version of the Blue Peter theme. Wyn 😂👍

That is indeed the Blue Peter theme tune, which is a hornpipe called ¨Barnacle Bill¨.

Blimey, there’s some colours in this game! I just read the author’s comments and I reckon he’s done alright with this!

Cute little game, I do agree, it’s easy to lose track of your crab with so much moving on screen. Favorite Sea game ? ManEater and it’s DLC Truth Quest, just because your Shark can evolve to shoot a laser beam.

Thanks Emma! A shark with a laser beam does sound pretty epic. Gotta look that up !!! 😆😆😆
