G.G. Goldman is a genius (author-composer-singer). He has written the two best songs by Céline (and her best album ever), This one and *"Pour que tu m'aimes encore,"* which you've already reacted to. Find the lyrics of both songs (this one is for René, the Céline Dion "chéri," that's why she really cries while singing it in the clip, it's not fake). The song's construction and the lyrics of this are both absolutely art pieces. Peace, folks. ☮😏

This is absolute one ofnher very best songs ever. She is so much more powerful and sincere in French and the lyrics are far less generic and more nuanced in French than the songs she typically sings in English.

Of course the live versions are much better especially between 2008 and 2020. Yes, this song is from her (1995) D'EUX French album. That album is also her BEST selling FRENCH album and the best selling French album of all time with the first track on the album (Pour Que Tu M'aimes Encore) being her biggest selling French song/hit . She sang that hit song at every concert worldwide and for that Nicolas Sarkozy, a former President of France gave her the LEGION OF HONOUR medal. This medal is similar to the US Presidential Medal. Funny how y'all keep saying " I DON'T KNOW what she was saying" because there is a studio English version of JE SAIS PAS called I DON'T KNOW kzbin.info/www/bejne/aKjNp5-pl7CrqLs . That's also a good version and the last Riff/Note in the English version is a must hear. #CelineDionTuesday

Deviating rivers, carrying weights Crossing seas, I'd know how to do that. Challenging machines, taunting laws, Divine retributions, I’m not afraid of them. I know how to take a hit, and how to deliver one, too. I have learned how to punch nails. I’m not a victim, I’m not a dove And to break me, they have to make me fall down. I know the winters, I know the cold But life without you...I don't know. I’ve known the silence for a long time I know its violence, its taste of blood. Red angers, dark pains, I know these wars, I don’t fear them. I know how to defend myself, I’ve learned well (how to do it). We're not nice ones around here. I know the Winters, I know the cold But I don't know life without you. Fight after fight, worst after worst, Every minute, I believed I could hold on. I 'd want to learn day by day But who commands our loves? I know the Winters, I know the cold But life without you...I don't know, I don’t know, I don’t know...
