C: MO - HGVs versus ballistic missiles

I think the speed of the HGV here should be fairly higher. HGV speed at time of release should be well in excess of mach 10. I think LRHW is said to be mach 17ish. Also don't think HGV's spend most of their time in the atmosphere. They skip off the atmosphere and reenter, only to skip off again. Then they go all in when their target is close enough

AFAIK the "skipping" behavior is an optional trajectory, not necessarily the only one feasible. Skipping also means remaining at a significantly higher altitude for the majority of the course, which may be undesirable depending on enemy sensor/SAM coverage. Furthermore skipping, while more energy-efficient, restricts manouvering potential. Open to corrections of course!
