While making soap mostly we use water with NaOH i.e 32% to 38% of oil weight. But instead of water many other liquids are also used like milk, fruit puree, flower extract, herbs extract. That portion of ingredient is named as liquid in lye calculator.

You can take between 320 to 380 gm of water, milk, puree, extract etc. For 1kg oil batch. Caustic soda how much you should take will change according to what oils you use in what proportion. Use lye calculator everytime to know how much lye NaOH to use for your batch.
