I know the 2 cities and I agree with your preferences, Cordoba is better if you are interested in history or culture or partying and Mendoza if you are looking for nature activities. Cordoba province has some great towns surrounded by beautiful nature but Mendoza has the Andes mountains and that is amazing.....plus the beautiful vineyards (-;

@@TravellingWithCon It is a difficult one because both have its unique appeal....I think Mendoza is a little nicer in that it has wider streets, it is full of trees and it has more beautiful plazas and parks spread around the center of the city....also it is known to be a very clean city......but it may be a bit boring for a person looking for social / cultural attractions/partying....whereas Cordoba has more history and more old/historical buildings in the center of the city and it is buzzing with young people due to its universities .......I would probably pick Cordoba if I just want to do city tourism.....whereas if I have the time and want to travel around the province....both have great attractions....so it depends on the type of holiday. A good few years ago I went to Rosario...and it really impressed me....Rosario got a bad reputation in Argentina over the past 2 decades or so due to the high level of drug related violence....and so I did not have much expectations about the city and we were travelling to Cordoba....but decided to spend 2 nights in Rosario on the way....and I can tell you the city is very pretty, I found it to be nicer than Cordoba from an architectural standpoint and to some extent wealthier as well (most of the country's agricultural exports ship from the Rosario harbour)....it is like a small BA...whereas Cordoba is more Hispanic/Colonial in terms of it main architectural style in the city....Rosario is more French/Italian like you would find in BA...and plus it is on the Parana river which gives it a very nice feel given the long promenade along the river....with restaurants and bars....beautiful to walk. I highly recommend it, and plus, now with the new administration crime allegedly was reduced significantly as well.
