César Cui - Canzonetta

Canzonetta from Miniatures, Op.20/9. If I had more time today I would have tried to play the whole set. Hope I can do it soon. This was included in the Masterpieces of Piano Music (by Wier) and played on Kawai E200. I like the soft sounds it can produce for being such a cheap and entry level upright. I made a little error near the end.

Cui: the most overlooked amongst the "Group of Five" ..... well, this is a delightful set of album leaves and he wrote several other short pieces (never large piano ones), plus quite a number of operas, choral music and accompanied songs, as well as beautiful chamber works and interesting orchestra ones. In Russia he's still a famous name. Unfortunately not outside, despite his level, IMHO, is equal if not superior to Balakirev, Rimski and Borodin. I like Musorgskij the most among the Five, but Cui comes second.
