Lemmy's part in overkill is the most demented and ridiculous bass part in any song recorded. And I mean that as an absolute praise, you can't create anything heavier and more badass.

No question. What’s that quote? “Just cos he’s playing power chords doesn’t mean he ain’t as fast as anyone else.” I also love how he’s like 58/59-60 and he gave one of _the best_ performances in his life on this one. I love his 80’s vocals on stuff like the Birthday Party but this set was killer. Top 5 versions of Overkill, for sure! A lotta stuff I didn’t like post Würzel. This one is really refined.

For as long as I live John Hall will never get my money, I'd sooner buy a chinese copy. edit: somebody liked the comment and i got a notification just to tell y'all i did end up getting a japanese aria pro 2 rickenbacker copy bass from 1976. thing plays better than the rickenbacker i've tried at guitar center.

I like the comment on Ace of Spades ‘91 “I’ve never seen someone try to keep up with Lemmy so hard in my life”. The fact Phil Taylor sneaks in a few drum fills, I’d say that comment goes to you. Props man, no one nails the tone. I reckon I’d be able to keep up, if I even played an instrument, but the timing would be god awful. 😂

Hi Buddy, what a kind of Amp is that? A Marshall JCM800, but the control panel upside..? Just curious, looks interesting-
@zombieplayer9353 жыл бұрын
did lemmy use JCM 800s? cuz i thought you could only use guitar heads specifically for guitars unless someone can educate me. another question is how much is the JCM 800?
@emmarossignol44452 жыл бұрын
You can use basses with guitar heads, it's maybe a bad idea to use a bass with guitar speakers because the low frequencies could blow up the speaker. But a guitar amp is fine, and guitars with bass amps and speakers are fine. Not sure if he used JCM800's, I'm pretty sure Motorhead was started before the JCM800's were released. So maybe something like a super lead plexi or a super bass. And also these amps are expensive, you can get clones for cheaper but a real deal is $1000-2500 or more.
@krzysiu40032 жыл бұрын
Marshall super bass with some modifications.
@horszhed64472 жыл бұрын
@@emmarossignol4445 Absolutely right It doesn’t matter it is a bass amp or guitar amp, because there is no component in the amp that makes it not compatable with the other guitar. It is the speakers frequency range that makes the gap between the two of them
