It’s always interesting to try and understand how an artist, in whichever creative field they work, gets to the final destination. Be it painting, pottery, poetry, writing, or designing, gardens buildings etc, I find it very interesting. Thank you.

Really liking this.. it is a nice surprise, showing off the experience that you can have at a workshop. It is nice to be able to experience a bit of this even if we are unable to travel. Causing me to start examining Cezanne now. Peter Keegan explains things in a thoughtful and easy to follow manner. Thank you for sharing!! Watching from Nebraska, in the middle of the U.S.A.

Agreed. I'm an old-fashioned embroiderer (not counted cross stitch), sewer, and crocheter. I enjoy getting my hands on textiles and am not an artist per se. I know you're proud of your retreats and it is a lot of work for you, but it was a bit dull for me to watch. Sorry.

It’s not all glitz & glamour running a chateau. This is how real hardworking honest people earn their money, it’s good to see videos like this. Not ones where you sell stars on a wall to clueless people. Then go round wasting money on rubbish finds & expensive items for oneself.

He's giving a good class for "almost beginners" with a grasp of art vocabulary. Reminds me of my early art classes. This type of excersize is always fun, to paint in the style of, or rather, using the methods of a specific artist. It's helps hone your eye, find other gestures and postures and teaches you to solve slightlt different problems. I always preferred teachers who where very direct and technical about teaching painting. It's very technical work! It's however a bit pointless uploading entire videos using iphones. The entire footage has the teachers clothes in focus, his work out of focus, a complete blur. Like painting, filming requires technique if you have a specific goal in mind, like teaching paint on canvas. I'm sure these workshops are a real pleasure in such marvelous surroundings with a good teacher!

Really loved this set of videos. One thing I would say is that the focus of the camera in Part 2 is almost all on Peter's back not the painting. This made the painting blurred. While I loved his commentary and he was really engaging, I would've liked to have seen his paint strokes/technique in more detail. A great idea for future vlogs tho and love what you're doing 🙂

I enjoy learning more about painting, however the focus is more on the artist shirt and not the painting. ❤

yes, it was hard to see what he was talking about with painting the "lines" just more of a close up on the painting as he's talking

We will be fully editing another version that shows you everything better- but we wanted to post this unedited now to give everyone a chance to paint along with the artists and submit their work by the end of our workshop!
