@@ムネタ The woman said many different things, but only one thing is suitable to fill in. You have to notice the words before and after the blank to choose the fit one. For ex: Question 10: " increasing your ability at", and question 11: thinking of new"

Commentating After having taken the exam, One big tip i can give you for listening Is to fully concentrate the First Time you listen as this gives you the basics for answering the second time you listen UPDATE : i passed with grade A, i got listening with 209/210 (dont have papers yet, Just the Digital version that shows everything out of 210)

I suggest you use the internet to find out the meaning of unknown words or phrases. The correct answers must base on the questions and what the speakers really mean. Reading the scripts again and again; and carefully find the evidence for the answers.

20 out of 30, not bad since I took it up again after months of absence. I wanted to take 2 tests but I ended up mentally exhausted between actively listening, comparing answers, and fathoming them. No idea how I'm going to hold up on the exam for +4 hours😮‍💨.

Why do you need more time to understand the question? Because of new vocabularies or your speed of scanning the question or any thing else? About the second problem, do you find what you like? Try to start with what interests you or what you want to know more.

Ex..For me, I like business & money books, even though I'm Vietnamese but I always find English books about this category to read. You can apply this with listening as well, for example I also interests in self development, so I listening to famous speakers I admire like Tony Robbins, Oprah Winfrey....I watched and listen to every show and speak related to this one. This will not only help me improve English skills but also help me be better in business and life. Find what you want to learn, and instead of your own language, learn them in English contents. That will keep you going.

@@VietFCE most of the time the large amount of information set for a particular question really perplexes me and sometimes all options are very sound so i cannot make a correct choice. my another weakness is in gap filling lis, the way the question is organized makes it difficult for me to shape in mind the possible answers n automatically i miss it without realizing.

@@trinhngocanh2979 I see, First, Sometimes it's really hard to choose the right answer. At that time, I often use Exclusion Methods. I'll ask myself: Is this A correct, how about B >> if they're both wrong >> C is the right answer. In order to do that, of course, we must understand what the question is all about, get the speaker's ideas, focus on what the speaker really means and does mention. The correct answer is the only answer that really goes along with the question and meet which what the speaker really mention.

About gap filling: This really requires our focus on the question, while keep on listening at the same time. We must read carefully each question to find out the key words that help us realize when the speaker mention it. Do not just get so deep on each question, try quickly understand the content, and keep scaning the next question if you feel you are staying a little bit long at the current question. Keep practicing, keep listening. The more you do it, the more you will realize and get your own idea to do the test better.

When it comes to part two, the first time I listen to it my brain doesn't do anything, I can't get any answer. I start understanding the audio the second time it is played.Would you mind giving me any piece of advice?

Here are some tips for Part 2 that may help: + Read and listen to the instructions + Use the time given to read the text and try to predict the sort of information you are going to hear. Look at the words before and after the gaps, you could get a good idea if the missing word is going to be a noun, verb, adjective, adverb…It may be information about places, events or people are talking about course, trips, holiday activities. + Use the order of the information on the page to help you follow the recording. The information you are listening for, will come in the same order as the listening. + Try to pick the answer from the first time you listen and check again during the second listening. + The words you need to complete the gaps are heard on the recording. Therefore, you shouldn’t try to change the words. + Try to practice and listen to as much English as you can. Listening to English podcasts, radio programmes, watching films … The more you listen, the more you will hear
