I got 27/30. Which is a superior result. Although, in part 2 man's pronunciation of editorS was nearly unintelligible. I would have gotten 28/30 otherwise.

Question 5. I can't really find the part in the script which implies "the lack of cooking skill." Can you kindly explain this?

The speaker says : " It's hardly economical compared to making your own meals from scratch. They don't like to admit that's beyond them" ==> making their own meals is beyond their abilities >> lacking of cooking skills.

in Q 1, the script is "she reads all sorts of books... provided the characters are strong" so I think the answer should be C

No, the correct answer is B. The question is "when" his daughter is motivated to read >> so we have to focus on that. "She reads all sorts of books... provided the characters...." is just the the answer for the question from the woman: " your daughter likes reading, doesn's she?" The speaker says " encourage her to go for what he wants keeps her enthusiasm going" >> this is the answer for Q1 >> B is the correct one, not C or A.

Answer A: She criticises its unappetising flavours >>> notice this is about flavours >> does she mention anything about unappetising flavours? >>No >> A is not correct answer. Mean while, she says: " companies are making an effort to include more fruit on the menu, and customers will think twice >>> B is the correct answer.

That's strange... in part 1 extract three the right answer on the 5th is "C" according to answer sheet. However in script and in audio (While I was listening) - he said nothing about their cooking skills. Not even a word. He mentioned them watching their budget yeah and that they thought it'd be more economical for them and still he said about commercials. NOBODY SAID ANYTHING ABOUT COOKING COOKERY, THAT SOMEONE COULDN"T COOK! Hate this exam with its illogical answers. May be they can but still reckon that it's cheaper for them. And about her: she welcomes NEW options available - nothing about it being new for her (or any synonyms for the word "new") Other options can't be brought her as answers SO... illogical and super strange listening part

This one is not easy to get. But we need to understand what the speaker means to choose the right answer. In this Q5, part 1, notice the speaker say: "...but when you look at portions, it's hardly economical compared to making your own meals from scratch. They don't like to admit that's beyond them" This whole message meaning that " fast food is not really a cheaper choice compared to making your own meals; but because making their own meals is beyond them ( they don't really have cooking skills or their lack of cooking skills); so they choose to eat fast food.

But then she says "fast food companies are making an effort to include more fruit.. on the menu now though, which is a real step forward" >> this implies she welcomes the new options available (those options are include more fruit and veg on the menu). And one more tip: for these kind of questions, we can also use "Exclusion Methods"; A and C cannot be the answers >> B is the answer.
