Not to be rude, but there are several aspects in which he isn’t that good. For example, the way he says the words and stops is not natural. He just keeps on focusing the third word he says, making it very unnatural and a bit forced, as well as showing the lack of fluency. The pronunciation is definitely good, but not the best either. He also doesn’t use any complex grammatical structures. And you really can’t compare the topics of the CAE exam to the ones in a CPE. If you take a look at the questions, most of them were actually about easy topics to talk to, since they are more about our everyday life. I think most would agree in a CPE level, the topics get worse and make it harder. And remember, being confident doesn’t mean you are doing it greatly.

How lovely to hear candidates at C1 expressing themselves so well. Even better, that they are Spanish! 29 years teaching in Spain and still people mock the standards of the level of Spanish people speaking English... Things have changed immensely since I came and if the candidates of today continue like these two have, only positive things can come from this in the future. Well done to all students and pupils who put 100% effort into learning. Hats of to the teachers as well!

I had my CELA C1 exam yesterday, it went relatively good. My partner was really nervous throughout the exam so that acted as a hindrance that we couldn't pull off the discussion part but the rest went good. The examiner was friendly and was patiently listening in case you guys are worried about the Part 2 in speaking. It was easy to be honest and you can easily slay it. (coming from a shy introvert myself) I was nervous at first but gradually became comfortable. good wishes to everyone preparing for the exam!

I saw a video explaining that present perfect is for things that have happened in the past and still affects the present, experiences and thinks were time is not taken in consideration And the past simple is used to actions which occurred in the past and were finished at that time and also specific times so if he meant to say that he was an introvert but now he isn’t anymore he probably should have used the past simple because it’s a finished action of the past that doesn’t continue in this moment

They’re not bad but what always bothers me at those tests is how unnatural it all sounds. Two regular american citizens would never have a conversation like that. All those pre fabricated sentences they have in their head and just reciting them over and over again. They’re should try to talk more like everyday people rather than some british business english robots. Its not their fault. The teachers and the tests in general are to blame. To truly sound like a native is extremely difficult and requires years of practising and discipline or a year abroad in an english spoken country where you’re surrounded by that language 24/7 to master it. I know how hard it is because i’m doing it myself.

Yeah man, they teach us to fill in silence, which distracts the examiner from a stalling student, it kind of makes the conversation seem more fluent

Teachers literally tell us to do that so the conversation seems more casual(? (I don't know if they want the conversation to seem casual or what, but it's got a purpose)

I'm sorry, but because of this strange accent, these students are not very easy to understand in England and America. They swallow some words and suffixes. The man is a native speaker, but speaks very clearly and pronounces all the words.
