Yes, Jessica's pronunciation is excellent and her accent is practically native British English. However, it's ok to have a local accent from your country. As long as you're understandable, it shouldn't affect your mark.

Thank you very much! I was looking forward to such video! Some queries: In part 2, when asked to discuss all the photos and make a decision, since we have already discussed two of them, how we should deal with them quickly, without repeating ourselves? Also in part 4 I thought that we just answer on our own the questions.
@tothepointenglishwithben.
@tothepointenglishwithben. 2 жыл бұрын
You shouldn't repeat yourself in part 2 because the second task will be quite different and you should have enough vocabulary to avoid repetition. There is no part 4. In part 3 there are effectively two parts... first, you must speak on your own about the subject on the card you're given (followed by extra questions for your partner and yourself) then, you must hold a conversation with your partner answering some extra questions that the examiner asks.

I think that the most important thing in the Speaking Part would be the interaction between the participants, especially if they truly know each other. As you said, it does not really matter the final answer, but the process itself makes it so appealing and natural, fluent, until the clock is ticking, haah! I am a 17 years old student that is going to take the CAE exam next month, I am really doubtful whether I am going to pass it or not as I am not so much confident about my skills, especially when it comes to exams, they make me stressful and anxious, which is normal, of course, but still. Haha. Great job, I love your work.
@tothepointenglishwithben.
@tothepointenglishwithben. 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Tara. As you said, it's completely normal to feel anxious before and during an exam. In fact, it's useful because it helps you focus. The important thing is to be as prepared as possible and you'll be fine. 🙂

Hello, thank you for sharing. Thanks to Jessica and Leo. May I just make a suggestion for the mini presentation part. There are three bullet points that the speakers are expected to answer. Why not just going through the bullet points one by one and ticking them off in your mind. For instance: What practical skills are required: cooking, cleaning, doing litte DIY work at home, repaing small devices at home. People who need practical skills: technician, plumbers, electricians, in general people doing physical work. Disavantage of lacking practical skills: you depend on others to help you, you come across as clumsy and awkward, you need more time to "survive" in daily life because house chores require practical skills. One more thing, if I may. Why not recording the candidates and make them listen to some of their mistakes. Both candidates are very strong speakers but there are some mistakes that could be avoided just by listening to them. Again, this helped me a lot. Ben, do you offer live courses that people can book?
@tothepointenglishwithben.
@tothepointenglishwithben. 2 жыл бұрын

Very useful video! One question: if you are asked to discuss a really challenging, specific topic , can you honestly admit that you’re not that cultured on the subject and that you’ll give it your best shot, as long as you do it in advanced English? From what I gathered, the ability to utilize your linguistic tools should be evaluated and not the knowledge of technical details, right?

I know it’s ridiculous but I’ve seen so many 18 year-olds sitting for the exam in the videos uploaded by Cambridge, that I’ve grown a little too self conscious about my own age. I think they should read more about those subject . In my humble opinion i think for reaching the C2 level the fundamental skill should be reading ,you won't make it, if you don't do something about that .as a teacher sometimes my dear Ben you have tell which mistakes they did .maybe in the level b1or b2 can be acceptable . But in proficiency level being redundant was be fatal error while they did .they said incoherences . In other hand You provided us essencial material for enhencing our english. thanks for all hopefully the students on the video can get the c2 certificated .
