C3 Corvette Upper Right Control Arm - Part 3 Painting, bushing, & ball joint installation, Real Life

In this video you will see the removal of old paint and dirt of the upper right C3 Corvette Control Arm, plus the repainting, which will include the pressing new bushing into the Control Arm, concluding with the installation of a brand new ball joint, essentially completing the refurbishing process of this upper control arm for a C3 Corvette.

I did it all exactly as you did. If it wasn't for this video I would never have done it. I had to have the bushings pressed somewhere and they did a really trashy job. Question: the ball joint: you said there's a lip you can push into the arm itself. I rented a ball joint press and it pushed it all the way in for me, but it had a gap between the arm and ball joint. No amount of tightening it would get the ball joint flush against the arm.

Cool. I've done it like that before. One Time I used chemical deruster. And I powdercoated them. Nice explanation.

Thanks for posting these series! Where did you purchase your bushing kit?

I got my bushing from CorvetteDepot.ca, or you can get the same set from Corvette Central as well. I got poly only because I saw how shot my rubber bushing works, but I think at the end of the day, either poly or rubber is fine. If you don't need to strip and paint the control arms, the job is way faster. Thanks for your comments btw. J
