To all those considering buying this phone, here are some facts: 1. The predecessor to this phone called the edge 30 ultra was also touted as a camera centric phone. It failed miserably. They released an update several months after its release but it still has not rectified the autofocus issues and several other processing issues. The camera is terrible. 2. The pure stock android OS experience is only half true. On the edge 30 ultra, several bugs render the phone quite frustrating to use. Bugs such as the autobrightness being erratic, ready for features not working as expected, and several other issues reported by users. No update has been received as of yet to cater for these issues till date. Read the Motorola forum on this phone to see how users are disappointed with all these issues. 3. The edge 30 ultra released near to the end of 2022 is still believe it or not stuck on android 12. Security patches themselves have been delayed consecutively. 4. The customer care or support is the worst or even non existent department at an organization I have ever seen. They don't have any answers. They cannot help. For whatever issue you have. They may respond, but sorry is all they have to say. 5. No original accessories are available for the edge 30 ultra. A simple thing like a charger is not available even on their website or on e-commerce platforms. The phone claims to have 50 watt charging, but there is no charger to support this. Wireless chargers from other brands do not hit the required speeds of charging even if they are rated 50 watt. My advice for someone who wants to invest in a flagship phone, is that you should put your money with a brand that has good customer support. Without it, your flagship will start to feel like a mid budget range device. Specs and what you see on advertisements do not tell the whole truth. Don't fall for the marketing hype, because that is one thing Motorola is very good at.

Definitely. This is the only flaw in Moto phones as of now. The thing is I'd rather put up with late updates than shitty UI with ads like other phones so the upcoming Moto Edge 40 is still my top pick other than Pixel 7a. It all depends on the price which I buy from those two.

My US version does come with 8gb, but can be set to 10gb/512gb. Its under performace, ram boost = On. Common Motorola feature.

Protip for moto owners - the navigation buttons at the bottom can be changed by bypassing the settings by pulling the settings widget "3 buttons" to the desktop (option under to select under "shortcut to specific settings") - you will then enter a submenu that is not normally available in the normal settings 😃

I was about to go for the edge 30 ultra but as i knew about their issue with their updates i switched to oneplus 11r and at Oct when the sale comes great Indian sale or big billion in whichever i get the s23 ultra at low cost imma go for it. I know charging is the only issue with s23 series but it's ok as i ain't gonna use it for gaming.

For 550$ it's an amazing phone. It appeared few months ago already in Eastern market, I ordered from AliExpress and enjoying it. And the battery is very long lasting! But the most amazing is that my eyes don't get tired from that screen. The charger and the screen and the fact that it's so thing - are the most important thiyfor me in this phone.

I have an edge 40 pro after using a Xperia phone since the moment they exist. My last one is the Xperia 5 II. I bought the Moto because I didn't like Sony price point for the Xperia 1 / 5 V. I am really happy with the Moto. It was cheap, has all the flagship stuff and outperforms most other phones. The size and screen is also awesome to pair with the Razer Kishi V2. I am curious about the updates, but I think this wasn't so good with Sony either. If the phone stays in good shape for at least 2 years, I think I'll buy another one.

moto X40 (retcn) don't support Nearby Share and Android Auto, if that concern you. Security update patches are bi-monthly - T1TR33.4-30-62 as of writing (update are all in Chinese words..). Don't get International-rom version (warning of security issue at boot up).
