Beautiful sound!!! My favorite "bird" love song. Just like Scrooge McDuck loved the sound of the cash register, this gearhead loves jet engines....

What an awesome sound, living near Dover AFB as a child, this brings back so many memories

I first flew a 747 as a young child back in 1974 and if memory served me correctly, the TD39's were also used and the sound was similar. When I first listened to a c5 flying overhead in the 80's I did mistake it for a 747. Now the differences are astounding

it would have been PW JT9D engines

It's not TD. TF. The engine u r telling is a JT9D. The JT9D had a similar Thunderous Roar, but was Comparatively Quieter than TF39

What was the thrust? Sounded like a JT9D at full thrust
@JishyFishy41063 жыл бұрын
Tf39 and Jt9D. Both of them look and sound the same.

On civil jets the engines are closer to the wing.

Also traffic is on the left side of the road rather than the right side of the road which makes it more likely from Europe or UK

This is Kadena Air Base, Okinawa. I used to work on the aircraft arresting barriers.
