Getting a fun experiece is way more important then making the challenge hard. So I don't mind you whaling for C6 Yelan, it unlocks a whole new gameplay style. It would be boring if you C6 every 5*, but doing it only for special cases like her is fun to watch.

I think for specific goals within the challenge "whaling" isnt really an issue. Getting (or trying to get) C6 Yelan is a smaller challenge that personally I think would be fun to watch. It also changes how you play the account and how you can play Yelan. Meaning there's more content you can make from it. I personally think for accounts like bows only a lot of the challenge is early game with a limited roster, and once you reach a point where you can clear over world content consistently finding new interesting ways to play your teams should be the new goal. Having a c6 character on an account like this is rare and interesting! (Also to be 1000% frank. With how useless for you the 4 stars are on the banner and your Tighnari luck, I dont think you'd gain too much BESIDES a better Yelan.)

you dont need yoimoya to be teammate of yelan. c6 yelan is one of the most powerful DPS in the game

Personally, I wouldn't whale when there is a whole ass region to explore and some other ways to farm preemos without spending money. But as far as the challenge goes, I see nothing wrong with recharging for certain characters as long as you really want to! C6-ing every character is what I'd consider against the rules cus that kind of defeats the purpose of the challenge but just one C6 or a couple cons here and there are totally fine imo. C6 Yelan is probably worth it with how busted she is and if you really like her then go for it man!

honestly i think pulling on the weapon banner would've been a better choice because it features two bows that have good stats for your characters. even if you lose the 25/75 and get an off banner weapon, you could've had enough for more than one of the two featured bows (since once you lose the 50/50 to get either bow you get a guaranteed).

not really that related to the video at all but the new artifact domain might be one that you actually want to farm for. The golden troupe set is one of fischl's ( if not ) best in slot artifact, and the masachusset set ( whatever the hell it's called ) It's lyney's best in slot artifact set aswell, so technically, most of the pieces you'd get out of that domain would be useful

In my opinion spending money on "challenge" accounts is pointless(unless there's a lack of specific characters with the trait you chose) that might be just me but if I know someone is just gonna pay for the character they want it doesn't make it exciting to see when they pull or how they'll overcome some challenges. To me it just makes it 'collecting all the characters with that one specific trait' rather than a challenge I'm going to look forward to, but at the end of the day it's your account, your money and your free will.
