Lovely graphics, art and sound. Super chill demo. Makes me think of if a scarabaeus II was made and released today :)

Lovely work. Been a while I have seen voxel landscape combined with precalculated tunnel. (Or so I quess the voxel blob was made.)

Nice effects ... all that on a friggin' 1 MHz machine.

Didn’t it have a 2mhz mode with screen blank?

@@whochecksthis - Well, the C64's main CPU is running at about 1 MHz. They had some demos in turbo mode and expanded memory on Vice, but this can run on real hardware, and that's the real magic.

No. The C128 have a CPU with a 2 MHz mode (running at full speed only in 80 column mode and during vertical black in 40 column mode). Non expanded C64 can only run @ 1 MHz.

@@AntonioMarciano-bl1gk ahh, I knew there was a 2mhz mode. Makes sense it was on the 128!

lol. here's a fun thought: during the ending, with the looping scroller, thanks text, etc., when you click the video timeline and jump to a different position (still in the scroller/ending part), KZbin pushes megabytes to your webbrowser, across many networked computers, and your local computer decodes it into even more megabytes. the exact same effect could (theoretically, if the programmers add the feature) be achieved on the original C64 machine by a keypress, and changing just four bytes: pointer to gfx, and pointer to sound. it makes me wonder if it's more energy efficient to buy a used C64 on eBay and watch the demo, than to watch it on KZbin. ;-) (yeah, i know this is a bit of nonsense... but still... ;-) )
