Funny you mention microprose soccer, me and my mate played that a hell of a lot, theres was a place on the corner of the 25yd box where you could stop and not get tackled, then choose your moment and always score in the top corner of the net.... my mate always had the edge on that game.... Went through the whole video, trying to find a game I played as a kid, but can't remember its name :( The camera in that game is vertical, similar to the one in Alcazar: the forgotten fortress. The game starts by someone kidnapping your kid, and you are basically looking for your kid, trying to save him, inside what seemed to be a deserted mansion, going through different rooms, each represented by a separate screen.

I wish i could be more specific than that but i've looked through lists of c64 games and cant remember it i'd need to find a screenshot to go THATS IT!!... If this sounds familiar please lemme know.

I know that fast progress is often made at the start of things. Also sometimes a huge leap just comes along that moves things forward immensely. But look at this shit. These games are like 30 odd years old. Look at games now. Where the fuck are we going to be in another 30 years??
@Rattopaz2 жыл бұрын
I don't know, but games haven't changed much in the last 10 years, yes they got better graphics, but gameplay haven't changed almost at all and in most cases, it got even worse.
@childofthesun322 жыл бұрын
@@Rattopaz Oh yeah, the experience hasn't gotten better, probably even worse and the graphics have gotten way better. I'm thinking more in terms of the "interface between game and our experience" has been overall improving on average. A lot of games are becoming more like realistic simulations with what's possible, and sure maybe it's implemented poorly a lot of the time, but on average, things are improving. Like, I was very into RPGs in the 80s and 90s, so when more games started incorporating RPG elements, I liked that. Now more and more games are implementing survival/realism elements. I like that too.
